Das Restaurant Rue Royale ist eine direkte Inspiration der legendären Mutter Brazier, die in der Rue Royale in... Lyon. Ob man nun drinnen im retro-zeitgenössischen Ambiente sitzt oder auf der Terrasse, die einen Blick auf das Meer bietet und gegenüber dem Hotel Atlantis liegt. Auf der Speisekarte werden französische Klassiker wie Jakobsmuscheln mit kandierter Zitrone und grünem Pfeffer oder Hechtbrot mit Hummersauce wie in Lyon neu interpretiert. Die Präsentation ist puristisch, raffiniert und alles ist köstlich. Achtung, kein Alkohol!

Went back yesterday after a long time.. what to say ? Maybe the fact that the restaurant was empty, especially compared to the other ones near it...
First of, I wanna say that the staff was welcoming and nice, allowed us with my tiny dog, which is rare enough in Dxb to go unnoticed. But the seatings, table, general appareance wasn't clean/neat at all, with a sense of general neglect (stains on the seats, cushions, dirt/crumbs from previous meals everywhere, on the floor..). Ok... we wanted to grab something to eat quickly, so we stayed anyway, despite the red flags, so maybe it was our fault..
We ordered : 1 bruschetta, 1 cesar salad w/chicken, 1 pizza margherita, 1 focaccia sandwich and drinks...
The food was below average, tasteless.. we ate not even half of it.
Ok...
Payed the check, left.
Went back home directly from there.
By the time we got home, my mother ran directly to the washroom, threw up like she was gonna die, with huge stomach cramps and ... let's say the rest!
30mn later? It was my first daughter who followed the same path, with violent spams, she rendered everything..
Needless to say that my other daughter and I got the same treatment later on in the evng, and that we all spent a horrendous night, from bed to bathrooms and vice versa, even after we took meds for nausea, stomachache, dia...hea ..
So there you go, Rue Royale. Maybe washing hands, cleaning properly, serving fresh food, and keeping your customers healthy would be a thing to think about ? I'm really disappointed and quite taken aback by what I imagine happened..
