Here is our experience:
We made a reservation online for 5 people for 8.30pm when calling the restaurant just to ensure that everything is set and stone, they informed us that they can’t honour the online booking but can offer us 9 pm. - sure no problem, we heard great things about the restaurant from locals so we really wanted to give it a go. When we arrived at 9pm we were informed that they screwed up our booking and that we should come back in 30 minutes. The person was very apologetic and promised us a free beverage for the trouble. We went around the corner for a drink and came back after 30 minutes just for the restaurant to bring us to a table for 2 which was obviously not suitable. Again, waiting for the restaurant to move a table around to honour our booking for 5, bear in mind 1.5h later than originally booked. By the time we sat down one chair was broken and extremely uncomfortable but given the restaurant was full, there was no alternative.
We ordered the starters (onion special, veal, fish), which I would call very average for the price of 14-16€ each. Please note the fish is raw which was not specified on the menu (not suitable for pregnant women)! For the mains we got recommended a special of the day- pork; which 2 people ordered but ended up being sold out, so the kitchen “improvised” a veal meal instead which was less than the veal starter with no main carb or side dish to accompany the 130 Gramm of meat. A few decorational vegetables, that’s it. The risotto was very much enjoyed and loved by the third person and the other two shared a special veal meal that was nice but ordered medium rare and came medium- well done with a potato & mushroom mix. For 80€ I would expect at least a salad or some proper fresh vegetables as a side. Desserts were nice and probably the be best part.
Unfortunately, we never received the free beverage and when we mentioned it to the waiter, we eventually got a free limoncello with no apology for all the hassle & trouble.
Overall we spent over 400€ for dinner that was massively delayed, to then be bullied out of the restaurant by people smoking inside the place (which I’m pretty sure is illegal).
I also just want to note that 2/5 people are from Bordeaux, so unfortunately this is not just how they treat “tourists”.
Prix en adéquation.
