SELINA CATAHOULA NEW ORLEANS

We stayed in room 6 on the ground floor. Walking up, I could see the door wasn't hung in a way that sealed the room and there was quite a gap at the top. Upon entering, the bathroom floor had standing water all around the toilet. This was likely from the rain. We went to ask about changing rooms and were told there were no rooms available. We then asked for towels and were told we could switch rooms the next day.
After mopping up the water, the towels started to turn brown. It was humid, so we turned on the mini split A/C unit. The noise that came out of that thing was unbearable. We chose to turn it on and go to the hotel bar for our welcome well drink, while the room cooled down. The staff were very nice. The bar closed at 10pm that Friday night.
Going back to our room, we opted to shower and get ready for bed. The water pressure coming out of the shower head wasn't good, but if you switch to the hand held, it was non-existent. Make sure you bring your own shampoo and conditioner. I don't know what was in there, but i cannot recommend them.
They don't have cable TV, only smart TVs. When our TV could connect to the WiFi, we were able to watch Netflix or mirror our phones. Someone was still signed in to their Netflix, so if you use it, be sure to sign out before you leave.
We turned the A/C off, so we could sleep. The noise from the unit versus the humidity was a coin toss as to which was worse.
The next day, we were told the only room we could move to, had a broken bed, so we'd have to stay where we were. We did get a key fob though.
It's now Saturday night and we had a 7:30am appointment the next morning. Plus it's daylight savings weekend, so we lost an hour at 2am. Well Saturday night was a rooftop party with a DJ that sounded like it was in our room and lasted until midnight.
We never saw any breakfast, even though it was mentioned. The staff were as nice as they could be, without any ability to actually help. The bed was comfortable. The location is good.
The hotel's vibe is cool and inviting. The room we stayed in was very small and difficult to navigate around the bed, but still good for the price. We met Jordan, the new Manager, as of 3 weeks ago, and he seemed really nice and helpful with local food choices.
All in all, if I was 20 years younger, going to NOLA to party and wanted to save a few bucks, this would be a viable option.
