HIGGINS HOTEL CURIO BY HILTON * * * *

Cons: We stayed 3 nights and were in and out of the hotel a lot. Not once were we greeted or acknowledged by the people working at the front desk, not even upon initial arrival. It was also disappointing that there was no free coffee in the lobby in the morning. We have never stayed at a Curio Collection where this was the case. There is a small shop inside the hotel where we were able to purchase a cup of coffee each morning but they even charged $1 extra if you wanted creamer in it. Overall, our stay was pleasant but the Higgins was lacking the service and feel you usually experience at a Curio Collection.
We arrived around 10a although, check-in is at 4p and they assured that we would receive a call once the room is ready. Never received a call (even after 4p). They held our bags and we came in after check in time. My partner has gold tier benefits with Hilton and early-on had received notice that we had an upgraded room (yay!) but as we came up to the floor where our room was, it had been apparent we were given the room furthest away from the elevators, and that with no view but a parking structure (we asked for River or Downtown view). That left us pretty bummed as we had to walk 50 rooms and three halls down to reach our room with no view. If it did have a view, maybe the hike would've been worth it.
Hotel front desk did not seem to friendly at all. They will acknowledge you by looking your way but they will not greet or welcome you. It seemed there was only maybe one of them that was nice and tried to help us.
Roof top is nice otherwise and service there was friendly.
We were offered the presidential suite which, we agreed to. The room was great with a nice view of the city. The only problem was the room was located directly under the bar and rooftop restaurant, which was excessively loud. I informed Nate at the front desk, which we responded by offering $100 complimentary meal. The rest of the stay was very unpleasant, because the thermostat on the 8th floor was set in 60 degrees, which made the room temperature fluctuate excessively. There was also a large bubble in the flooring in the suite. Would not stay here again while visiting New Orleans.
