Super delicious meal! The service was excellent and the atmosphere was very intimate and quiet. It felt like I had been transported to France. C'était magnifique ! I would recommend making a reservation, as it is quite a small restaurant.

Valentine’s Day Pre-fixe
1. Lobster bisque - zero actual lobster in it
2. Seafood risotto - Severely undercooked and the mussels had a terrible taste
3. Apple tart tatin - Cooked in what tasted like spoiled oil
$85

My wife’s food was equally as bad, so I won’t share the details. All in all the meal was over 200, due to the wine we ordered.

Not sure how this place has a 4.6. Save your time and money!

So pleased to discover that the former bistro I once frequented when I worked in the area hasn't lost a step as Mathilde French Bistro. The escargot was perfect and the true charcuterie board was fantastic with the duck rillet and the saucisson d’ail being my favorites. The delicious plat du jour of perfectly cooked sea bass, shrimp, mussels mashed potatoes and saffron reduction was well executed and surprisingly light. Paired perfectly with a bottle of Sancerre. Finished off with an excellent mousse au chocolat. Will return for the cassoulet and profiteroles ????????????????

First of all, the service was one of the best we’ve ever had. We came for dinner with our 2 years old son who was tired and hungry and they brought us French fries from the house for our toddler, in less then 2 minutes after our arrival.
Food was great as well, especially Coq au vin!
Definitely recommend for a cozy delicious French dinner!

I can't say enough good things about this French gem! The service was top-notch, and the staff went above and beyond to make our dining experience exceptional. As for the food, it was a gastronomic journey. Each dish was a delightful revelation of French culinary expertise. We were lucky to come when the special boeuf bourguignon was on the menu, so good! The service was perfect, there when you need it but never hovering, the food was classic French, and the wines by the glass were delicious. Great date night.

Nous avons choisi ce restaurent par hasard, mais quelle belle découverte. Trois membres du personnel parlaient le français. Les propriétaires, le chef et sa femme qui travaille sur le plancher font un superbe travail. Accueilli avec le sourire, politesse, entregents et la nourriture est exquise. À ne pas manquer 10/10+++

I don't even understand the poor reviews, this is one of my favorite restaurants in the city. Absolutely the best French onion soup and filet mignon I've ever had. Don't miss out on the potato puffs either, they're filled with by bechamel. Yummmm.

Outstanding! Phenomenal! Incredible! Exquisite! How many superlative adjectives can one find to describe a restaurant like this? Food was absolutely delicious. Service was friendly, competent, and very attentive even to the small details. I and my family cannot recommend it highly enough. We plan on coming back, even if we have to swim across the bay to get here. It is wonderful to find a restaurant like this to cap off a wonderful day in San Francisco. Miss coming here at your own peril!

This French restaurant reminds me of home. In this huge city I could not image such a sophisticated French restaurant. This chef was spot on. My night was magical. If you dine at night, it is so romantic. So, make sure to dress up! I can not wait to return to the city but this time I hope to meet the chef.
