Lots of shopping around, Busy city vibes during the day & Quiet at night. Rooms are remodeled nicely, clean 8.5/10 surprisingly spacious for a downtown hotel.

Hotel staff is kind willing to help with whatever’s needed. WiFi isn’t the best for work calls but gets the job done. No rm service, restaurant is pricy but cute.

Great location. Right next to the Mall and a short walk from Union Square. The rooms appear to be recently renovated with a nice modern touch. Two robes are provided in the closet that has plenty of space to store your luggage. Large windows with a decent view. Valet service are provided but end after 10 PM. After that one must park their own car in a secured parking lot underneath the building.

I booked through Expedia (Friday night - check out Tuesday). We traveled to San Francisco for our 15th wedding anniversary When I checked in, I was informed about a “resort fee.” Expedia’s website shows it’s included in price.
I was given $10 vouchers to use in your restaurant. I wanted to use on our last full day (Monday/our anniversary ), but restaurant is closed Sunday & Monday…was never informed that . I had asked the front desk if there was a sister property that might honor your voucher. The guy stated he would call his manager and advise me. I never received a call.
Woke up at 4am Tuesday morning to the smoke detector “chirping.”” Had to call front desk to replace unit.
Room service didn’t fill shower gel. Had none for use on last day.
Lastly upon checkout, the front desk not once asked about “how was our stay/experience?” If that had been asked, I would have gladly shared my experience in person…instead of posting online.
I will never stay here again and I will discourage others from staying there either.

Great boutique hotel located a block from Moscone West, right across from the Marriott. Clean & comfortable rooms, great service. "Dirty Habit" lounge / restaurant on the 5th floor. Good breakfast but expensive (like everything else in downtown San Francisco). Also good for happy hour drinks or a quiet dinner.

The saying, "form over function" comes to mind when reviewing the hotel Zelos. Years ago I had been to the "5th Floor" restaurant when the property was the hotel Palomar. Spectacular restaurant! So I was excited to stay at what is now called the Zelos. Unfortunately I found a hotel that is rundown and over designed and over rated.

"Modern " is the design aesthetic and its stupid and not inviting. The bed was a very low platformish affair with an awful mattress. They had foam pillows that kept your neck bent. The bathroom was very small and the in room toiletries were moss and birch that smelled like moss and birch.

I tried to call down to the front desk for the wifi information only to find a phone with no dial tone. I used my mobile to call front desk and they said someone would be right up to look at the phone. That never happened. At $350/night, I expected more.

Nice stylish room with services. The staff were lovely and clever. The location is okay, close to the moscone conference center and subway station. The gym was always empty with a good variety of exercise machines.

This hotel security was outright racist towards me, I was casually standing in the pavement outside of the hotel door waiting for my bus (Jan 10th 4:30pm 2024). The hotel security staff continuously made derogatory remarks against me wanting me move away because they don’t want an Indian guy with an ugly sweater near their place. Goes to show what kind of people run this place.

Service and communication is 0/5. We needed to check out early which we told them upon check in and they said they will charge us an early check out fee. Their reservation line said there was no fee upon early check out and to just let the front desk know. However, the phone lines for the front desk weren’t even working. I emailed them and they were unwilling to cooperate and would not tell me how much the early check out fee would be.

I was just needed a place to sleep so I can't comment on the emenities or lack thereof. The bed was very comfortable, the decor modern, the bathroom modern and clean. The hallways are dark and a bit of a maze, but I kind of liked how this lent to the subdued and quiet atmosphere. Front desk was friendly enough. The nightly rate is actually around 170 after fees and taxes. Worth it I think just for the bed and quiet.
