Angsthasen aufgepasst.

When we checked out I did tell the front office lady that we were highly disappointed and that it was ridiculous we paid SOOO much money for the room we got. She did discount the room by 20% without any hesitation. I said “wow… clearly, you’ve had this complaint before” she gave me a smile as if we agreed but she couldn’t exactly say it with words.
When leaving the valet service had our car ready and he handed our keys from inside. He didn’t open the hotel lobby door for us, he didn’t walk us to our car — nothing. Literally, had he JUST opened the hotel door he would have received a generous tip. It was 7am in the morning, we were the only people leaving so he wasn’t busy. We just truly couldn’t stand staying in that depressing room any longer!
Their restaurant, The Grange is a must-try for breakfast--dont miss the Penna Cotta pancakes!
The staff are just icing on the cake. I used to avoid this location, but this is now our new favorite spot to book.
We checked in when the computer system was down. But the staff made it easy to "check in" using old school pencil and paper.
With it being downtown, we were walking distance to lots of places. We had family stay at different hotels in the area and The Citizens was above all the rest.
If we are ever in the Sacramento area again, we will not stay anywhere but here.
