RIVIERA RESORT & SPA ^{* * * *}

Two of us seniors, spent a week here October 2023. The hotel is out of the way, would have liked to be able to walk to places. However the bus service is great, you can buy a travel pass from the hotel shop. The hotel is very clean, no matter what time of day you can observe someone cleaning or tidying. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble. Patricia on reception was marvellous and super helpful. The room cleaners are polite and do a good job. There are loads of loungers by the pools and you get a free beach towel for your stay. The entertainment staff were also friendly and chatty it was simple entertainment in the bar but we enjoyed it. The restaurant had a variety of food options all beautifully presented and something to suit every nationality. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this very clean, friendly hotel.

Très beau séjour dans cet hôtel excentré au calme. Rien y manque. A 20 mns à pieds d'une plage paradisiaque. Des animateurs au top.

Wir waren 10 Tage im Hotel und hatten Halbpension.
Das Hotel liegt ganz im Norden von Malta. Ca . 3km von der Fähre nach Gozo entfernt. Es ist hufeisenförmig gebaut. Wir hatten ein Zimmer mit Meerblick auf der Ostseite. Das Zimmer war ruhig, lag weg von der Straße zur Fähre. Die Zimmer sind sauber und gut ausgestattet. Auf dem Flur gibt es kostenlose Trinkwasserspender. Das Wasser ist allerdings ungekühlt, ohne Kohlensäure und schmeckt nicht besonders gut. Geschäfte gibt es dort nicht, höchstens ein LKW am Hotel wo man preiswert Snacks und teuer Wasser kaufen (2l=2€) kann.
Es gibt mehrere Aufzüge, von denen nur 2 zentral liegen. Das führt bei den Essenszeiten zu schlangen. Das Essen ist teilweise sehr gut, teilweise aber auch nicht besonders toll. An zwei morgenden gab es Dosenananas und Dosenpfirsische. Wer es mag...
Die Marmelade gibt es in kleinen Portionen in Plastik. Ebenso die Butter. Nicht sehr nachhaltig.
Es gibt abends eine Happy hour für Cocktails. Diese sind gut gemischt und schmecken. Preislich mit ca. 7€ für zwei Cocktails wirklich empfehlenswert.
In der Nähe des Hotels ist eine Bushaltestelle. Der Bus braucht von dort nach Valletta ca. 1,5 Stunden. Besser einen Mietwagen nehmen. Hinter dem Hotel ist ein großer, kostenloser Parkplatz.

Beautiful view from the hotel to Comino and Gozo. If silence and being away from the hustle and bustle is your cup of tea then this is the place for you on Malta. Be prepared though to travel a bit to the city highlights but with so many transport options available to you, you with have to pick what suits you best. Comino is the quickest to get to by boat and worth a day trip. To get good service in the evening dinner time can be challenging but as I discovered, it is best to eat supper a little bit earlier. Then you can expect better service with no problems. The staff are very friendly in all departments.
