We had our wedding reception at the Biltmore 14 years ago. Now that we have 2 daughters, I wanted our family to enjoy the hotel like we did so many years ago. Our impression this time was even better than I remember.
Staying at the Biltmore Hotel was an unforgettable experience that transported us into a world of elegance and historical charm. From the moment we arrived, the breathtaking architecture and the lush landscape of this iconic hotel set the stage for a truly spectacular stay.
The service at the Biltmore is unparalleled; every staff member we encountered was attentive, professional, and went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and satisfaction. The rooms are amazing with all the modern amenities you could desire, all while preserving the unique historical character of the hotel.
Dining at the Biltmore was excellent. We enjoyed Fontana one of our nights, Cascade poolside a couple of our days, in room dining for those days we just wanted to relax with a slow start, then when on the go, Posto Dolce always had what we needed. All the dining and food experiences were incredible and as expected from the Biltmore.
The pool area is simply magnificent. The pool is one of the largest pools I’ve ever seen. We enjoyed a private cabana one of our days there and it was exactly what we were looking for. Private space for lunch as a family, but right next to the pool so we could jump in and enjoy as much as we wanted. It was an ideal place to relax as a family and enjoy the day.
I started my mornings in either the fitness area or the pool for a swim. The gym equipment is top notch, and the pool has multiple distances and plenty of space for getting in those morning laps. Afterward, utilizing the amazing saunas and showers in the locker rooms. There really is no better way to start a day.
In summary, the Biltmore Hotel is not just a place to stay but a destination to be experienced. It offers a perfect blend of historical grandeur, luxurious amenities, and impeccable service. We left with wonderful memories and a desire to return every couple of years to enjoy this amazing hotel! Thank you to the Biltmore staff for all the memories and exceeding our expectations.
However, the highlight of my stay was undoubtedly the pool. The lush greenery and bathed in sunlight, it was a serene oasis where I could relax and unwind.
In addition to the outstanding accommodations and pool, the culinary offerings at the Biltmore were exceptional. Each meal was a culinary delight, showcasing great flavors
My time at the Biltmore was truly unforgettable, and I look forward to returning soon.
Highly recommended!
In addition to that, the buffet food was cold, but once we notified management, they changed it all out and greatly adjusted the bill. The wait staff was nice and attentive. ????????
Eating near the fountain and the ambiance was great! And the hotel is undeniably historic and amazing.
Overall, maybe my expectations based on the location were too high. I had attended a lovely wedding and reception there some years ago and I based my expectations on that wonderful experience. Unfortunately, the experience fell short of everything I had hoped for.
By the way, they completely made a mistake saying they didnt have my clubs when they were at most 15 feet away from Kenny the whole time.
Dont go out of your way to “secure” peoples clubs. We leave them there for a reason. It is a nice neighborhood and know it wont be stolen for the 90 minutes we leave them there. Very unprofessional. Kenny should be fired for the way he handled the situation
Partout où l'on pose les yeux, on est ravi par le raffinement des décors.
Chambre très confortable, couleurs harmonieuses.
Un sentiment de luxe et d'élégance.
Brunch exceptionnel...
On the first night, we called for an extra comforter and sheets for the sofa bed (as it didn't have any by default) but it was never delivered. We had to ask again the next day before they were eventually provided.
We also had a toilet which was repeatedly malfunctioning and not flushing and had to call concierge services multiple times. This made our stay extremely uncomfortable with three people staying in the same room running back and forth between wedding related events.
Besides this the bathtub was chipping away and the shower pressure was also extremely low.
When we brought up these issues again during checkout we were simply told that the issues were addressed and that they would only comp us the $23 per night resort fee for the inconveniences. Given how expensive these rooms are per night, it was an extremely disappointing experience. I have stayed at a lot more affordable hotels that are better maintained and with better service than the Biltmore Hotel.
The booking was made through FHR, which comes with some extra perks like hotel credit and room upgrades. I booked this hotel because it was our first time traveling with an infant and wanted a property where everything was on-site and the service was thoughtful. Unfortunately I chose poorly.
The check-in attendant (who was sloppily dressed and not in uniform) told me upgrades are only for "special people" and had no idea what FHR was. I had to initiate the conversation about FHR and only then did he provide the amenities.
Not wanting to cause any sort of scene at check-in, I let them give us a room and then called AMEX to let them know about the FHR issue. They called the hotel directly and had us upgraded, which meant the rude bellhop had to come back and move our bags again. The management blamed a new-hire for the bad check-in. I would blame management for poor training.
There was also no crib in the room--even though I had called multiple times the week before to confirm.
My wife (while trying to manage my infant daughter) went to ask the concierge for a bottle of water and, without getting off of speakerphone, told her he didn't have any. So after parking the car, I came back inside and walked 10ft to the check-in desk where I was reluctantly given some bottled water. Also of note, my wife overheard one of the managers come and reprimand the concierge for another poor guest interaction early in the day.
I could go on about how unprofessional the staff was but this review is long enough. We paid around $650/night before resort fees and taxes so it's not a really an expensive hotel, but the service for the price point was appalling.
If you are used to cheaper hotels and want to splurge on the Biltmore without any real knowledge of what to expect at a legacy property, then you'll probably have a great time.
If you have ever stayed at a true luxury property and understand how warm and welcoming a great staff can be, then stay far away from the Biltmore. I'll certainly not come back and I'll recommend all my client and friends who regularly come to Coral Gables to similarly find alternate accommodations.
Some of this fee is kept for the house! A $40 tip on a $200 tab when 1/2 was pulling a cork. ??? What?
We love vintage, boutique hotels at any price but this Biltmore racket is not for us.
Service is elevated but yet, stops sort of making you feel anything special, especially when compared to truly high end properties.
Some rooms might be phenomenal but the one I experienced had a view of a rooftop (I was told it had a golf view upon checking in but that was a stretch at best), quite harsh lighting, and pillows that were…spongy. Speaking of pillows, be ready to embark in a daily routine of removing 4 decorative, heavy, quilted pillows that lay on top of your bed. It’s supposed to add a flair of French elegance (I’m guessing) but much like the service, it feels not authentic, forced, and a bit of a pain to have to move them to the floor so you can get to your bed.
Speaking of bed, don’t expect anything luxurious and be ready for a rather loud a/c system that will most likely wake you up either when it turns on in the middle of the night or when it doesn’t turn on because the min 65 degree temp is reached according to the thermostat and yet, it’s still warm in the room.
A couple of truly unique features worth calling out. First, their gym. The most underrated feature of the hotel by far. This is a gym that will out to shame most average sized gyms, let alone anything that would exist in most high end properties. Truly expansive area that I guarantee you’ll miss parts of it unless you walk through it a couple of times. It’s that good!
Side note on gym equipment (as of 3/7/24): they even have a Concept 2 rower with a PM3 (IYKYK) which unfortunately hasn’t been oiled in a long time but that’s in addition to 2 additional erg rowers!
Second, the pool. This stat might be disputed by some online, but if it’s not THE largest hotel swimming pool in the US I can guarantee it’ll be the largest one you’ve ever seen. And what’s nice about it is that it’s not a simple square or perpendicular design but rather non-geometric which gives it a nice lagoon-like character, despite its size.
Finally, the place overall does have a nice romanticism to it which you can see from the pics. I think it can be nice for someone with the right level of expectations but disappointing for someone looking to be blown away by every aspect of their stay.
We need a yearly meeting for the automotive enthusiasts......
Thanks for this one.....
