HOSTEL DA PALMEIRA

I stayed in the hostel for a whole week. The staff is really very friendly. The rooms clean & are thoroughly cleaned every day. The hostel has a kitchen, fridge and even icebox. The internet connection is very good. The common room and the small outdoor seating area in the greenery are very cozy. The hostel is 3 minutes walk from the beach. Bus stop and supermarket are also nearby. I could even rent a bike to ride along the promenade. Really great. I can really recommend the hostel.

Lo verdaderamente sorprendente es la buena valoración que tiene el hostal. Es un hostal si, pero con muy malas calidades... La cama, las almohadas, materiales, funda de plástico sobre la ventana cutre en vez de una cortina... La mayor pega fue que a nuestra llegada nos encontramos la habitación llena de mosquitos... Mosquitos de terceira, osea enormes, dormimos porque llevábamos insecticida y repelente en spray. Abajo tienen una cocina y un salón con mesa para comer amplia y bastante bonito (por este motivo no he puesto la mínima nota) pero la calidad del desayuno es pésima ( para que te hagas una idea el zumo es 95%agua y 5% zumo de bote de naranja y no exagero!! Es como beber agua con color...) Muy muy triste, porque aunque el precio no sea el de un hotel de 4 estrellas la noche en este hostal ni mucho menos te la están regalando... Muy caro para lo que es, no vale ni para ir solo a dormir por la noche porque no se duerme nada bien.

Would give 6 stars if I could. This place is amazing and great value for the money. Perfectly clean, new everything, comfortable beds, lots of space in your room and common areas and the staff is fantastic. Stay here!

Tot wel 6x probeerde iemand onze kamer binnen te komen na middernacht en was er veel lawaai van bij de receptie. Bleek dat het de receptionist van het hotel zelf was omdat er een probleem was met de kamers. Ik kreeg als antwoord dat wij in de juiste kamer lagen zonder enig excuus. Ook toen ik zei dat we 4u later moesten opstaan voor onze vlucht kreeg ik geen antwoord en bleef de situatie nog even doorgaan. Vreselijke nacht dus.

I‘ve been to many places before, but this one is the crème de la crème of all hostels. Newly renovated, chique both from the inside and out, and the personnel is super friendly. I came here in the early evening from the Aeropuerto das Lajes and it took me only a couple of minutes by taxi to arrive at this house. They even gave me a bike to tour around for free. 10/10, muito obrigado!
