If you are staying in Gràcia, Sonder is the place to stay! Judith and the rest of the staff are super friendly and helpful, and gave us great recommendations in the area as locals. The room was very clean and beautiful. The hotel is in a great area of Gràcia with our room overlooking Plaça del Sol. We will be back!

We had a great time in Barcelona. The Gracia area suits our style of travel - local plaza’s and many cafes and bars.

The Sonder was a bit of an enigma for us. The location is fabulous right on the Plaça del Sol with its numerous bars and eateries. Close to Metro station Fontana and easy walking distance to Diagonal and Joanic.

The staff were amazing, Judith in particular.

There were just a few little annoyances to stop us from giving it a higher rating.

The rooftop bar wasn’t operating for the duration of our visit.

There’s not much climate control in the rooms. The hotel’s heating system is season based. We had two unusually hot days, but had no capability to turn the air-con lower due to it being on the winter setting. Only solution was to open the window. If objection to that sounds a bit petty, the problem is that the location IS a noisy one. So the choice was to roast at night, or be kept awake by lively action from the square. Not ideal, not a deal breaker either.

The rooms are basic with little to no storage. A hanging frame and a token set of shelves, mostly taken up by an ironing board.
The room was clean and comfortable though and the bathroom was excellent.

Breakfast was included in our deal, but we only used it twice - the food was the same every day and not particularly inspiring. The coffee was awful. The staff member doing the breakfast’s however, was a delight and super helpful.

So mixed feelings. We might consider an apartment next time. But we really loved that location!

Tolles kleines Hotel mitten im schönen Viertel Gràcia. Die Zimmer sind klein, aber völlig ausreichend. Mit der Metro ist alles gut zu erreichen. Das Frühstück war lecker und das Personal super freundlich. Das Hotel ist nur zu empfehlen und wir kommen beim nächsten Mal gerne wieder.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Sonder La Casa del Sol. The rooms are beautiful, there is a nice & quiet rooftop terrace to relax or have a drink in the evening and the location in the heart of Gracia is perfect. The square in front of the house is busy and therefore a bit noisy, but we didn't mind as the bars and cafes create a nice atmosphere. We spontaneously extended our stay and therefore had to change rooms twice, which worked out very smoothly. Judith gave us great support to make the move as relaxed as possible. We will be happy to come back.
If I had to say something that could be improved, I would suggest that a few more hooks be attached to the walls so that several jackets and towels could be hung up.

I recently stayed at this accommodation during my trip to Spain, and it was the most unsatisfactory experience I had. Here are the reasons for my dissatisfaction:

1. Upon my arrival at the hotel in the evening, I found the main gate locked and requiring a password to unlock. To obtain the password, I had to check-in and provide my information online, which I missed. However, the hotel did not attempt to contact me through any other means, and the online registration process was cumbersome. It took me nearly 15 minutes to complete.

2. The room was stuffy and lacked proper ventilation. If I wanted to have some fresh air, I had to open the windows. However, due to the hotel's proximity to a bar, it was quite noisy at night, making it difficult to sleep.

3. The mattress was too soft, and after just two nights of staying, I started experiencing backaches and discomfort.

4. The shower water was excessively hot. I initially thought it was my mistake, so I kept adjusting the temperature, but the water remained scalding hot. (I usually shower with water at around 42 degrees Celsius.)

On the positive side, there were a few good aspects:

1. The receptionist, particularly a female staff member, had a friendly and welcoming smile.

2. The location of the accommodation was ideal.

Overall, I was dissatisfied with my stay at this accommodation. The lack of effective communication regarding the gate password, the uncomfortable room conditions, and the issues with the mattress and shower water temperature significantly affected my experience. I hope the management can address these concerns to improve the quality of their accommodation in the future.

Overall, my stay at the hotel was quite pleasant. The room was clean and tidy, equipped with all essential amenities. However, room number 21 had a minor downside—the vent located opposite the window emitted a foul smell when the windows were opened. Despite this inconvenience, Judith, the staff member, was incredibly helpful and informative about the local area. Her assistance greatly enhanced my experience at the hotel. Highly recommended.

Had an incredible stay at this property perfectly located just outside of heavy tourist population and in a cute lively local neighborhood. Highly recommend this place!

Foi a minha primeira experiência nos Sonder e neste conceito de alojamento. Tudo muito em pensado, com atenção aos pormenores, e uma relação qualidade-preço incrível. Quarto muito confortável. Localização não podia ser melhor. Todas as questões foram resolvidas prontamente por wattsapp a qualquer hora. Também conseguimos um desconto parking excelente através do hotel. Apenas uma nota para a App que podia ser melhorada. Recomendo!

We were looking for a central hotel in Gracia and it was perfect. Close to every little places, it was very nice. We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel, the terrasse, the services... Thank you.

After a lot of complications in advance with regards to booking and registration, the stay was great. Great neighborhood, nice employees and nice, clean rooms. Highly recommended! We will be back.

The hotel room was clean and comfortable and had everything I needed for a 2 day stay, it was well located on the square for food and atmosphere. I felt well looked after as a solo traveller and was able to store my luggage in the locker room after check out so that I wasn't lugging my bags around the city before my flight. Would highly recommend.

For when you are out a lot, this room is perfect to freshen up, relax and have a siesta.
Judith at the reception was very nice and helpful! Whether you need a taxi, want recommendations regarding restaurants, want to know how to travel the fastest from A to B or if you need an extra pillow, Judith takes care of it all!
Thereby the room had a view on one of the coziest squares of Vila de Gràcia, which was perfect!
At last the rooftop bar is a perfect place to relax and have a few (or more) drinks. When the bar is not open you still are allowed to use the rooftop. This is very kind!
We have noted this hotel for our next visit to BCN with a reason.

Avoid this company. Place is fine but company running it charge full amount many days before staying without informing you payment will be taken in advance and are extremely unhelpful. All I wanted to do was put payment through on a different credit card and they refused and was informed refund would take over two weeks if I chose to cancel.

Loved this hotel and location. Hotel is tucked away in a great neighborhood, but with access to dozens and dozens of restaurants and bars. The hotel overlooks the Placa del Sol -- a small square where locals meet up after work and where kids and families hang out to play when school lets out. Everyone talks about staying off La Rambla, but this neighborhood has so much more charm and feels authentic. At the same time, La Rambla or Sagrada Familia are an easy 20 or 25 minute walk or short metro ride. Staff was friendly and accommodating as well. Will stay here again.

Very quiet, super clean and the staff is amazing!!

La chambre était superbe. Très propre, grande douche et grande chambre.

L’emplacement était super bien aussi, en face d’un petit parc avec resto/cafés mais bien insonorisé. Un peu à l’extérieur du centre-ville mais dans un quartier super charmant avec pleins de restaurants et de transports en commun accessibles.

Seul hic, on nous avait dit à notre arrivée qu’on aurait un accès à la terasse sur le toit, mais nous y avons eu accès seulement 1 journée car les autres journée elle était occupée par le restaurant du bas. Nous étions un peu déçu car nous avons bien aimé aller prendre notre déjeuner/apéro sur le toit et on nous avait dit qu’on y aurait accès.

Bref, à part ça tout était génial. On se sentait à l’hôtel.
