RESTAURANT MONTE

The menu itself was dull, lacking innovation or excitement. But what truly dampened the evening were the seafood dishes, which were nearly inedible. The taste and texture were far below what anyone would expect from a place that's supposed to be an epitome of fine dining.
The restaurant's upkeep was shockingly poor as well. Above our table, a conspicuous spider web loomed, and wires hung untidily outside the wall. Such negligence in maintenance seriously detracted from generally nice ambiance.
While the service was acceptable overall, our experience started off on the wrong foot when our first server served us a very champagne, even though I specifically mentioned I didn't want that one. At approximately 50 euros for two glasses, this unwelcome surprise added insult to injury.
I'm appalled that a restaurant of this reputation could serve food like this and overlook basic cleanliness and customer preferences. 10+ years ago in my opinion this used to be the best restaurant in Croatia, but unfortunately, I cannot longer recommend Monte to anyone, and I will not be returning.
