Het hostel word deels verzorgd door vrijwilligers vanuit andere landen. Hierdoor zijn er altijd wel gezellige mensen waarmee je in de avond wat kunt doen.

Near bus stop, University of Costa Rica, very safe area, bed was ok, kitchen useful, breakfast excellent, friendly staff, vulnerable.

This hostel is clean, location is perfect in peaceful residential area and has good hot shower.

However on the negative side the kitchen though we'll equipped, fuel stove is taken away from 9 PM to 8am. Strange rules.

Marc the manager is hard working but he is strange. I made payment for two days, and due to change of plans I had to leave. But he said that he can not make repayment!

After pleading he reimbursed half amount.

I requested him to book uber but he said it is none of his business!

Strange cold behaviour towards guest's is difficult to understand!

No me agrada que las personas que realizan voluntariado en este lugar tengan que compartir habitacion con los huespedes.
Tampoco las personas que laboran para el lugar cambiaron mi ropa de cama por mas de una noche.
Ademas antes de que empezara el COVID en el 2020, el hostel de diferente nombre que estaba en esta misma ubicacion parecia una granja de moscas con vectores.
Los servicios sanitarios todavia poseen un olor insalubre.

Nous sommes restées plusieurs nuits au cours de notre séjour, entre deux excursions. Nous nous y sentions comme à la maison. Les gérants sont adorables, le petit déjeuner est délicieux et fait maison, la chambre privée toujours très propre et fraîche. C’est très sécurisé avec un gardien le soir. On recommande à 200% ! Merci Ecostay ????????????

The room was fine for staying one night and located very close to the bus station. Unfortunately the neighbourhood was very unsafe. The host was friendly but was somewhat unprepared for our arrival.

3era vez que visito este lugar. Sigue estando en mi top 3 en sitios de ubicación estratégica si tienes que viajar en autobuses de la terminal 7-10.
Totalmente recomendado.

Perfect place for the Bus terminal. The lady at reception was so welcoming and helpful. Rooms are basic but comfortable and the shared kitchen and living room very clean and spacious. Highly recommended.

Has everything besides 1 a pool and 2 a large volume of backpackers it is more of a chill hostel dorms are fine also private rooms seem good here. Kitchen is new. The cat and dog are both cool. There is coffee available in the mornings. They have a pool and a Ping pong table

Great place if you have a transfer from this terminal. Spacious clean rooms with coocking and relaxing faciliteiten on the first floor oppositie the terminal for a great price . See the pictures for only 43 dollar. The neigborhood is not so good at night...

This place is a travel hack! Short Uber away from the airport, opposite from the bus terminal 7-10, super quiet, got perfect sleep! Very cosy inside and super welcoming owner. Self check-in with code communicated early makes everything smooth! This is a better experience than some big hotels! Wasn’t bothered by the area, always fast, easy, cheap to uber in/out to anywhere in San Jose, or take a 9min walk to Cafe Roja for perfect Vietnamese Fusion!

La verdad que no está mal el hostal,pero al estar ubicado en una zona que dicen que es roja aquí en San José ,pues te da algo de inseguridad,llegamos de noche y no salimos hasta el día siguiente muy temprano hacia la estación de mepe..
La gente de la zona es muy amable,es verdad q hay suciedad e indigentes en las calles pero nosotros no tuvimos altercado alguno...
Recomendable si es para una noche y sabiendo donde vas y que te vas a encontrar...
A nosotros nos iba bien porq el autobús sale allí cerca muy temprano..

The cleanest hostel I've ever stayed in! Wonderfully accommodating and thoughtful hosts. I only stayed for 2 nights but EcoStay was the perfect place to unwind and relax. I loved my time here and felt relaxed, with a great breakfast too. A small recommendation would be some sort of activity to bring people together, given that it's a smaller hostel - Such as a cards/trivia/games night

My first time at a hostel and it was amazing! The owners are so nice, the place is very clean from top to bottom, they make you a hand made breakfast, the location is great, the list goes on and on. Would recommend this place to anyone!

Nous sommes arrivés de Monteverde en soirée, la proximité de la gare de bus nous a convaincu. Hôtel très propre et confortable et très neuf! Nous avons dormi juste une nuit mais c’est l’idéal si vous arrivez à la gare à côté ou si vous partez le lendemain via cette gare

We loved our two nights at EcoStay! It's in a great, safe neighborhood of San Jose with a ton of good restaurant options. About a 15-20 minute walk to downtown. The hosts were so kind and welcoming, and the breakfast was our favorite we had during our time in Costa Rica. We stayed in an 8-bed dorm. Each bed had outlets, a lamp, and curtains, and we had 2 full bathrooms to share between the 8 of us. The patio of the hostel was a great area to hang out, and they had games in the common area. We didn't use the kitchen, but it looked great. Highly recommend!

We stayed at Eco Stay Lodge for one night. We had such a great experience. David and Marta are fabulous hosts. Friendly and kind. The hotel is SUPER clean and tidy. The beds are cozy. Breakfast was incredible. Eggs, bananas, pinas, watermelon, coffee and tea. Such a quiet and cozy atmosphere. We felt like we were at home. Highly recommend! We will stay here again when in San Jose. All the best! Loved our stay, Zuzana and Mahsa.

Great little place. Quiet and clean. We stayed at Selina prior but we prefer this a lot better. Great breakfast and location. Walking distance to the restaurant centre and gym.
