What a wonderful hotel! It's made up of five houses from the 1930's so you come across beautiful art, large and small Costa Rican folk figures, unexpected greenery and little seating areas as you go from your room to the breakfast area. The included breakfast buffet has a huge variety of choices including lots of fresh fruit, or you can get custom cooked eggs and pancakes. The beautiful eating area consists of indoor and outdoor seating surrounded by a garden with large trees. Rooms and baths were very clean, plenty of hot water, and the staff were very friendly. The hotel is on a quiet street but an easy walk to downtown and museums. We ate at the adjacent restaurant "11.47" which was modern and had an excellent menu using local products. The term "unique" is overused, but perfectly applies here. We've stayed at this hotel three times and always had a great experience. Highly recommended.

What a quirky, unusual hotel! A little bit magical. Small hallways in every direction, partial gardens, unexpected rooms...and everything with a consistent decor of very colorful local folk art, mainly carved masks with torsos covered in gowns! Various sizes. So cool!
The hotel is very clean, staff friendly, informal. Breakfast was a plentiful buffet. Highly recommended to those who like a diversion from all the chain hotels (ugh!).

Évitez son restaurant: ni qualité ni la quantité mais prix très très élevés

J'ai bien aimé la chambre 9 mais pas du tout la 32 qui est sombre, vieillotte et dont une fenêtre ne ferme pas. Personnel très sympathique. Bien situé. À 22mn à pied du centre.

Hotel molto carino nelle parti comuni pessimo per le camere piccole e datate, per non parlare del bagno vetusto con lavandino che scaricava lentamente e perdeva da sotto. In due giorni di permanenza non sono stati in grado di ripararlo. Da evitare.
