We had breakfast at Belcruz every day we spent in Monteverde. They serve a delicious family style breakfast to the table with granola, fruit, toast, homemade marmalade. They also offer pancakes. It is delicious and the perfect wholesome fare before hiking and adventuring the rainforests. My kids loved it too and they are picky! The restaurant space is gorgeous and you feel like you are dining in the trees.

Perfekt für uns, für unseren Aufenthalt von 2 Nächten. Haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt, das Frühstück war super lecker mit selbstgemachten Granola. Danke für alles.

Excelente lugar donde quedarse unos días en contacto con la naturaleza. Casas acogedoras y una amabilidad increíble de la familia Belcruz.
Lo más incómodo, tener que coger el coche para ir al desayuno, aún que igualmente lo cogerlas si quieres desplazarte a cualquier reserva o actividad.

Wir wollten hier auf Empfehlung unseres Gastgebers zum Essen gehen, wurden jedoch sehr rüde abgewiesen. Dass man eine Reservierung braucht ist akzeptabel, die Art und Weise wie man uns als potentielle Gäste behandelt hat, nicht.

We stayed here for three nights and really enjoyed ourselves. The family that owns and operates this place is the sweetest and very accommodating. We had wonderful breakfasts every morning in their restaurant (included with our room) and a lovely trail connected our room to the restaurant below (check the trail photo). The room we had had two bedrooms and was quite large. It had an overall cozy feeling with wood paneling on the walls. The view from the room was amazing, hard to beat for sure!

The only thing to keep in mind that the rooms do not have AC, so if it’s hot outside you may need to open the front door and rear window to cool the room off. It does cool down at night in the area, so I left the window open a crack every night for airflow.

The restaurant was a very pleasant surprise. We ordered dinner for a night in advance and were served a gourmet meal, not unlike something you’d get at a fancy restaurant anywhere. What a pleasant surprise!

Overall, Belcruz is a special place and is totally worth a stay while in the Monteverde area!!

Hermoso lugar en Monteverde, nos sentimos muy cómodos en este hermoso emprendimiento familiar, gracias a Randall y flia por su amabilidad. Tiene hasta una montaña desde donde ver los mejores atardeceres. También tiene un resto que en caso de querer cenar en el lugar.

I was looking for another hotel and I found this place and it's really nice!
The view is amazing, the tenant is really nice, patient and understandable. He found me a beautiful little room for the night. I had an issue with the lamp in the bathroom and he fixed it as soon as I told him.
I quiet and the room was clean. It has a fridge. The only thing is the Wifi that can be a bit slow or sometimes you lose the connection but otherwise it was perfect.
The breakfast is also very good, you definitely have to try it!
I just had a bit of trouble to find the reception the first time I got there. The GPS sent me to the lodges parking and you have to go to a little path through the trees and cross a little bridge to get to the reception. It's possible to access it by car also, it's just that it's not the address written on Maps, it's a bit further after the turn (if you come from the city - Santa Elena).
Also it's not very close to the city, you'll need a car to get there.

Ein super gelegenes Hotel in den Bergen. Mit dem Auto nah zum Nationalpark und in die Stadt. Wir wurden hier herzlichen willkommen geheißen. Service und Personal sind wirklich überaus freundlich und zuvorkommend. Das Frühstück war auch sehr lecker und variierte. Auch hatten wir ein kleines Problem mit unserem Auto, wobei uns direkt geholen worden ist.

Hôtel sympa, emplacement idéal avec superbe vue.
Le monsieur qui gère l'hôtel est hyper sympa et très réactif pour vous réserver des activités.
La seule chose a améliorer serait les salles de bains vieillottes par rapports a l'excellente qualité du reste des prestations.

Mention spéciale pour le fils du gérant qui fait la cuisine. Les plats du soir y sont divins. Le restau était presque vide, les prix très bas, on s'attendait à manger vite fais pratique. En fait grosse surprise, meilleur poisson de ma vie, une dorade niveau 1*.
Même si vous n'y dormez pas vraiment allez y manger vous n'aurez jamais ce rapport qualité prix en France.

Un Endroit magnifique perché au sommet d’une montagne, calme et serein, vous vous sentirez aussi bien qu’au Paradis. Les hôtes sont d’une gentillesse incroyable, attentionné et serviable, toujours prêts à vous conseiller ou discuter avec vous. La nourriture est préparée par Randall Junior qui est un chef hors pair, il nous a préparé des plats dignes d’un restaurant 5 étoiles. Pour ma part j’ai mangé un steak de thon qui goûtait le ciel et ma femme a mangé le plat de pâtes fraîches … et croyez-moi elles étaient meilleures que celles goûtées en Italie ????????. Mon fils a, pour sa part, mangé un filet mignon dont la tendreté me rappelait les meilleurs steakhouses où nous sommes déjà allé! Randall et sa famille opèrent cet endroit et nous font sentir comme des invités et non des clients. Un énorme merci à Randall et sa famille pour cette accueil et leur hospitalité hors du commun. Si vous voyez « Rocky Ballboa » qui est le chien de la famille, SVP dites lui que ses amis Canadians s’ennuient de lui et SVP prenez soin de lui … Vous verrez … Il le vous rendra ????

Los días que pasaron fueron espectaculares. Magnífica atención por parte de Randall y su familia todos los días que estuvimos. El sitio es ideal y las instalaciones perfectas. Todo estuvo genial, y si algún día volvemos, ya sabemos dónde nos quedaríamos. Los desayunos estaban buenísimos.

One of my favorite parts of my stay in Costa Rica, it’s a bit outside of the town but that just adds to the atmosphere. The staff is incredibly helpful (including Rocky the owner’s dog who would escort us to our rooms and breakfast down the scenic little hike that connects the cabin-like rooms and the restaurant). Also the food they serve for dinner is delicious and way more affordable than anything you can get in the town! Liked them enough to write my first ever google review ???? #puravida

The hospitality was very warm. The service and the hospitality from the staff was very good. We felt welcome from the beginning. The simple but homemade tasty breakfast was worth it too. As for the accommodation, we had stunning views from the beautiful garden and the forest. It was very clean, tidy and spacious. Greetings from the couple from Cyprus!

Liebevoll geführter Familienbetrieb. In den kleinen Holzhäuschen fühlt man sich gleich wohl, die Umgebung läd zum Entspannen ein, die Gastgeber sind super freundlich, es gibt ein eigenes tolles Plätzchen zum Sonnenuntergang schauen und das Highlight ist das Essen im Restaurant! Sehr raffinierte Gerichte mit Weinempfehlung zu einem fairen Preis! Ich kann die Unterkunft nur empfehlen!

Amazing location! The family was so generous with their time, especially to my father who needed rides up the mountain to get to our room with a view. The chef was unbelievably talented. I cannot believe the food we ate! The little house we rented in the mountains was like living in a small castle. The views all day changed colors with the clouds passing by.

Has to be the best place to stay in Monteverde/Santa Elena. The rooms have a beautiful views, the small trail is refreshing, and it has an amazing spot to watch the sunset. The people are so warm and welcoming. The breakfast was some of the best food we had during our trip and the perfect way to start the day.

Some cons was that the hot water wasn’t really hot and the wifi was hit and miss. But after staying at other places in Costa Rica that seems to be the norm

La famille qui nous a accueillis est très chaleureuse et aux petits soins.
La chambre est très confortable et propre. Le petit déjeuner très copieux quand au dîner c'est un véritable plaisir de goûter aux plats élaborés par le fils.

Belcruz is a family run establishment located in a beautiful, peaceful setting. I loved seeing the trees wave in the breeze against the mountain. There is a short hike behind the property leading to a gorgeous view for sunset. Very close to reach main Monteverde destinations by car. The room was simple yet spacious and had a fridge and hot water heater for tea/coffee.

The WiFi was spotty, so would not recommend if you intend to stream or will be working remotely, but this was not a problem for us since we were happy to unplug!

Sehr liebevoll geführtes Bed & Breakfast mit anliegenden Restaurant. Hier fühlt man sich von Anfang an wohl. Saubere Zimmer, tolles Frühstück und ein Gastgeber der sich Zeit für seine Gäste nimmt und tolle Tipps für Aktivitäten gibt. Wir kommen gerne wieder !

Amazing hosts from the second we arrived. Trusty recommendations to save money and to other local, family-owned hidden-gems. Try the dinner - the Ricotta was the best meal I’ve had in Costa Rica! Beautiful views, from the cabins and private viewpoint. The two cute puppies for company were an added bonus. The breakfast was consistently nice, filling and healthy. Pura Vida!

We cannot say enough positive things about Belcruz and the excellent host Randall - it was our favourite accomodation of all 4 that we stayed at during our trip. Definitely recommend adding this to your list of places to stay when visiting Costa Rica. Randall is so welcoming, he makes you feel like a member of the family. He even helped us learn some new Spanish words (acachiete!). The accommodation is beautiful and clean, with stunning views (see photos). The breakfast was delicious. The short walk from the accommodation to the restaurant where you have your breakfast is beautiful and a lovely walk to do each morning. Muchas gracias Randall for making our time in Monteverde so special! We hope to be back in the future.

Good view, good location, friendly owner and family. They were very nice to fold a heart-shaped towel and put flower petals on the bed for our honeymoon! However, there’s basically no Wi-Fi in our room, and the view from our room is not as great as the ones shown in the other reviews/rooms. Also, we saw typical rice & beans dish on the table next to us for some Spanish speaking guests’ but we were never offered that.
