Das Hotel Pestana hat ein sehr schönes historisches Gebäude (ehemaliges Rathaus und späteres Stadtarchiv) in Beschlag genommen. Es besteht aus zwei ursprünglichen und zwei moderneren Gebäuden. Die sehr stilvolle Einrichtung verbindet klassische portugiesische Elemente mit historischen Details aus Amsterdam (Skulpturen, monumentale Treppe usw.). Es wurde alles getan, um dem Reisenden einen unvergesslichen Aufenthalt in einem der 154 Zimmer zu ermöglichen. Das Spa mit einem angenehmen Schwimmbad und das Restaurant tragen zu einem außergewöhnlichen Aufenthalt in der Nähe des Stadtteils Pijp bei.

Otherwise we were very happy with the room and facilities. If the issue is followed up, I would return back again.

Firstly, the room I stayed in did not match the advertised images on your website. This discrepancy was disappointing as it created false expectations.
Furthermore, one major inconvenience was that the room did not have a bidet. When I requested a room with a bidet from reception, I was told that bidets are not commonly used in this part of the world. This lack of accommodation for personal preferences left me feeling dissatisfied.
Another issue was that my room lacked natural daylight and felt incredibly dark throughout my stay. This made it difficult for me to work and enjoy my time in the room.
As a regular traveler who values fitness, I found the gym to be rather disappointing. The space was considerably small, which made it less than ideal for a 5-star hotel.
Lastly, I booked and paid for my reservation in December 2023, for the last week of January 2024. However, upon checking out, I was informed by the receptionist that there was an additional fee due to recent changes in municipal laws starting in January. It is disheartening to have been unaware of these changes until my departure.
My primary concern revolves around the lack of communication regarding these additional charges. Why wasn't I informed about this change when I made the reservation in December? Furthermore, why wasn't I notified prior to checking in? It appears that this information was deliberately withheld until my checkout, which has left me feeling disappointed and frustrated.
I believe that guests should be provided with accurate information well in advance so they can make informed decisions regarding their stay, and it is important for me to understand why these charges were not mentioned earlier.
