Nice hotel to spend the weekend. Near to Magog. A little bit old, but the staff is very welcoming.

This is a great family resort. We go here often. There’s isn’t much to do in the area, but the hotel is great itself. Great breakfast and nice staff

Here is the reasoning behind our one-star evaluation for Hotel Chéribourg. We used a Tuango coupon to book, and we had the following inclusions:
Two nights in a regular room, without a kitchenette, with two queen beds. The room was adjacent to the stairs. We could hear guests going up and down the stairs repeatedly day and night because the steps were right behind the wall where our bed heads were. We could hear children running and shouting in the hallways during both days of the school break. The refrigerator made noise with a regular whistle. The outlets for charging phones did not work. We asked several times for the USB outlets to be repaired to charge our phones. This request was finally accommodated.
Once we arrived around 2 p.m., we learned that early check-in was at 3 p.m. and late check-out would be at 12 p.m. We waited for the room to be prepared.
We arrived for breakfast the day after our arrival, and the lady told us we would have to pay because it was not included in our package. I insisted a little, then I was finally told that it was included in the package amount. The breakfasts were varied in a buffet style, and we enjoyed them for two days. No complaints at that level.
The gifts are in the room as promised. A marshmallow and a sweater promoting the hotel. I don't like to be offered a gift for my children that serves to promote the hotel that offers me the gifts. I am told I am picky. It reminds me a little of the time when I was offered a gift in a hotel in Quebec and then I saw a $26 charge for this gift on my bill...
At the restaurant, we invited friends for dinner. We all took the set menu at $36. The food was not good. Mayonnaise on my son's burger even though we said no mayo. An employee tells me there will be an additional charge to correct their mistake. I insisted a little, then the correction was made for us. All the plates are 50% frozen fries. My wife's meal arrives 10 minutes after everyone else's. Her chicken parmigiana is cooked like cardboard. It's grotesque for an establishment that is supposedly 4 stars. My beef steak seems very small and possibly defrosted, yet I paid a $5 supplement on the set menu price for the privilege. The desserts are small and not memorable. You have to ask for coffee and tea at the end of the meal; it is not suggested or offered even though it is included on the set menu. The credit is not automatically applied to the bill. I feel cheated because the package clearly states that this credit is included. The manager tells me to check with the front desk when I check out. At checkout, I try to settle the account with the hotel, but I wait to see if they will apply the credit. And no! I have to ask again. This time, it's the front desk that tells me to go to the restaurant for the credit. I go to the restaurant, and I am told that only the manager can apply the credit and that she is not there. However, it is time to leave the hotel. I go for a swim and wait for the manager to call me back because I refuse to pay the bill. An hour and a half later, I receive the call. The credit will be granted! Another victory for me, but at what cost?
The small pool and spa are outdated, dirty, and the number of people in the pool far exceeds the standards. There are small children and parents everywhere. Impossible for an adult or a parent to enjoy a moment of relaxation.
In summary, I did not enjoy the experience. At the price of $459 for two nights, plus $132 for dinner at a 4-star establishment, the bar should be raised. I found it either dishonest or incompetent on the part of the hotel to have to ask for everything I had paid for each time. This may be partly Tuango's fault, which serves as a third party between the consumer and the supplier. However, I can say that the children had fun running in the playroom.
