Let's start from the reservation. I booked our 20 ppl dinner well in advance and on the night of the event we were located in a huge and extremely noisy room with many other guests. Being a team dinner, the location made it impossible to have meaningful conversation, they should have 1) informed us or 2) located us on the terrace as their website says.
Once we all sat at the table, it took a good 15 minutes before we could order a drink. The room was full of staff members but they all seemed not interested in getting our orders. From the order, it took another good 10 minutes to get the drink.
Given the initial impression, we decided it was time to order and again, we had to ask one of the staff members if we could order. There was no proactive service of any sort.
The server that took the order did just that, no suggestions nor recommendations were made. They simply noted our orders on their tables and went away; I understand we were forced to a set menu with very limited options however, I would have expected a server from this location to interact with the customer and/or provide recommendations.
Starters were served in about 15 minutes. My starter - grilled tiger prawns with chorizo - was very appealing and presented nicely. The prawns had a rich, savory, and spicy taste; the chorizo and crayfish condiment was pleasant and buttery, as expected.
Mains came about 20 minutes later and they primarily were sirloin or rib-eye steaks. The plating was poor and did not follow any of the golden "plating rules" like locating the three basic food items (starch, vegetables, main) picturing the face of a clock, or placing the focal point of the disk on either the left or right side of the place, rather than the center. In essence, the main appeared very average and not in line with my expectations. While the meat was cooked as per my preference, no salt or rosemary, or any condiment was added to enrich the taste and flavor. The quality of the meat was notable despite the fact it had no particular taste or aroma; the crispy onions were not on the menu and they should have not been added without asking.
Desserts were served faster, I guess due to their "ready-to-serve" nature. This time plating was better and pretty much the only notable fact. The parfait had a very bland flavor and I could not taste any ginger. Nonetheless, while I was eating my parfait I felt a bad texture, and turned out to be a piece of paper that somehow made it part of the parfait. My attempt to let one of the staff member know failed after 5 minutes of no one noticing me asking for their attention.
In summary, my experience was very negative, and definitely would not recommend this location to friends or consider it for future events. The management should review how their staff deals with customers throughout the service and not just upon arrival. For what pertains to the foreign object in my food, I am speechless not only by the fact itself but also by the total lack of care shown by the staff.
