Hotel was expensive and disappointing. It wasn’t that clean and there is no value for what you pay for. We booked it for 2 nights but had to check out after the first night as the place wasn’t hygienic and their facilities weren’t that great and we didn’t get back the money for the other night but it’s understandable as it is the hotel’s policy. AC was very bad and the rooms weren’t that clean but the bell boy was super friendly and kind and can’t say the same about the guy behind the reception desk. I don’t usually write reviews but for this hotel i had too. It was that bad.

Als wir das Hotel Piccolo Portofino betraten, getrieben von der Aussicht auf ein Boutique-Hotel, das Luxus und Exklusivität inmitten der malerischen Schönheit Portofinos versprach, waren unsere Erwartungen grenzenlos. Die Beschreibungen ließen ein Ambiente erwarten, in dem sich zeitgenössisches Design und der Charme einer liebevoll restaurierten Villa zu einer einzigartigen Erfahrung verschmelzen. Die Realität jedoch stellte sich als eine herbe Enttäuschung heraus.Von der ersten Minute an wurde klar, dass die Wirklichkeit hinter den vollmundigen Versprechungen zurückbleibt. Ja, die Lage ist unbestreitbar atemberaubend, doch die Schönheit der Natur kann nicht über die Mängel des Hotels hinwegtäuschen. Was uns als zeitgenössischer Luxus verkauft wurde, entpuppte sich schnell als trauriges Zeugnis vernachlässigter Pflege und veralteter Einrichtung. Das Hotel, das einst Stil und Eleganz versprach, wirkt nun, als wäre es in der Zeit stecken geblieben.Besonders enttäuschend war die Ausstattung. Der erwartete schwarze und weiße Marmor beschränkte sich auf ein minimales Auftreten im Badezimmer, während der Rest des Interieurs in ein unpassendes Lila getaucht war, das eher an eine verfehlte Design-Experiment als an exklusiven Luxus erinnerte. Der angepriesene rote Samt? Nirgendwo zu sehen. Statt eleganter Kristalldekorationen, die den Räumen Glanz verleihen sollten, wurden wir mit dem völligen Fehlen jeglicher veredelnder Elemente konfrontiert. Es gab schlichtweg keinen Kristall – ein klares Symbol für die Kluft zwischen Versprechen und Realität.Es ist beschämend, dass ein Hotel, das sich auf seiner exklusiven Lage ausruht, derart grundlegende Aspekte der Gästeerfahrung vernachlässigt. Die mangelnde Investition in die Instandhaltung und Aktualisierung des Hotels spricht Bände über die Einstellung des Managements gegenüber dem Erbe und den Erwartungen, die es zu erfüllen vorgibt.Angesichts dieser Erfahrung rate ich potenziellen Gästen dringend ab, sich von der vermeintlichen Exklusivität des Hotel Piccolo Portofino blenden zu lassen. Die Lage allein kann und darf nicht als Freibrief für Nachlässigkeit und Mittelmäßigkeit dienen. Was uns als Perle Portofinos verkauft wurde, erwies sich als nichts weiter als eine Illusion, hinter der sich eine bittere Realität verbirgt.

La posizione è stupenda. La nostra suite vista mare su due livelli, terrazza e balcone regalano un'emozione e una pace degna del posto in cui si trova. Un sentiero molto suggestivo di pochi minuti a piedi porta alla famosa piazzetta di Portofino. Catello Brown e faro a pochi passi. Personale professionale e capace. Servizio di parcheggio molto utile vista la conformazione del territorio che non regala possibilità facile di sosta. Il prezzo è in linea con lo standard di tutti i servizi compresa la colazione semplice e genuina con ottimi pasti caldi e centrifughe. Camere calde, pulite e accoglienti. Alta qualità. Grazie Hotel Piccolo della splendida esperienza.

It is a luxurious hotel located in the heart of the city, about 5 min walking. The hotel is known for its impeccable service, stunning views, and elegant accommodations.

It is the perfect place to stay for a luxurious and unforgettable vacation.

What a find! We wanted somewhere to get away and enjoy the Italian coast, and wanted to be in Portofino to enjoy its charm without as many ferried in tourists. We decided to stay here, and made an excellent decision! Form the moment we got in (late, as there were train delays) we felt welcome, and everyone was so kind. Our room had two balconies, and stunning views of the water. The hotel is right off of a bus stop, so it’s easy to get to and from Santa Margherita, and about a 5 min walk to downtown Portofino. The breakfast spread was excellent, with delicious fresh juices and fruits, but the dinner at the hotel was our favorite from our week in Portofino. I recommend the risotto! Giovanni, the restaurant manager, was always so kind and remembered us every morning at breakfast. Will absolutely be coming back to the Piccolo hotel!

Good location and nice beach nearby. However... the hotel no longer meets expectation. Tripple price but half the service. Rooms starts to need serious renovations.

Hotel ubicato in posizione strategica con discesa a mare..La struttura necessita di un bel rinnovamento ( le camere in particolare)..Personale cortese e disponibile....

Truth about Hotel Piccolo Portofino

Have been to this hotel in 2012, 2017 and in August 2023. Despite the fact the room rate has increased for more than double in price in 2023, there were no development or the slightest improvement in the hotel or property area. On the contrary, there were holes and paint fading in the room, toilet smell of sewage & urinary. Toilet sink was malfunctioned. There were horrible leakage from the hotel window and balcony when it Rainer. Breakfast was served with portion packed cereal. For the 800 ++ euro per night room rate we paid we expected more that packet cereal. Hotel employees showed no motivation, which add on to the list. Wine cabinet in the restaurant was filled with layer of dust. What a shame for both the hotel and the employees. Recommend highly to reconsider staying at this hotel. Their glory days are over

This is one of my most favorite hotels. The view is stunning. The included breakfast is fresh and has many options. I have stayed 4 times and always look forward to going back.
