An absolute gem nestled in the heart of Malibu, Malibu Country Hotel exceeded all expectations. From the moment we arrived, the warm and welcoming staff made us feel right at home. The breathtaking ocean views from our room left us in awe, and the elegant decor provided a perfect blend of luxury and comfort. The amenities were top-notch, from the pristine pool to the serene spa facilities. The on-site dining options offered a delectable array of dishes, showcasing the finest flavors of California cuisine. Tiny, squeaky, outdated room with no proper heating. One ceiling mounted heater/ac unit which took about 6 hours to properly heat the room. Wife was freezing the entire time. Besides the floors being squeaky they also curled up in some areas due to moisture maybe being trapped in the room. The shower/bathroom was so badly designed that after every shower the water would drip down from the walls and mirror and the entire floor would be wet and slippery, and on top of that no floor mats, nor hangers for face towels. The only hanger they had was one on the door itself which was covered with other people’s hair. Mold in the corners everywhere. Didn’t even want to hang my towel on a hook that’s how gross I found this place. The pool was so disgusting and dirty too. The palm trees dropping little pellets everywhere made it another hazard.
We all got woken up Thursday morning by their Gardner mowing grass for 45 min outside our room, and Friday morning by the smell of Terpentin from the painters doing work on the property.
Now if this wasn’t enough already, after bringing up all our concerns to the staffs attention. We were just told to wait for the manager. Instead of just sending someone to check the heater, clean the room, possibly switch rooms (which wouldn’t have made a difference), give us a floor mat, they just said, we can’t let you cancel early. The next morning we finally get to meet the manager. He just took out a piece of paper and started explaining how Expedia takes 23% of this booking, y yada yada yada, but interestly enough drove a matted out TeslaX which I personally know as a Tesla owner is an additional $5000 feature. But he wouldn’t release the room, even though we clearly stated we would be checking out on time.
I’m not a fussy person in the slightest. I’ve been to youth hostels cleaner than this place, and for the price of $285 a night I can assure everyone there are really nice luxury boutique hotels up the street in Santa Monica. Leave this place to the rich Malibu guys who take their mistresses and flusies out here to have a naughty night.

Amazing stay and 5 minute walk from the beach. I stayed in room 12 and it was a very pleasant and comfortable stay. Will be going back soon

The impeccable service and hospitality made our retreat most enjoyable. Our nice cozy room was very clean comfortable and felt like home. We were very impressed by the staff.

Can't beat the price or location.

The hotel has a lot of potential but it was a miss for me. Management was pleasant and accommodating but my suite and parts of the exterior were in a state of disrepair. Think some are better than others if ur lucky to get one that has been redone- like the ocean view room next to me looked amazing. My jr. suite had a very outdated bed with dust on the top. One window was stuck in the open position and 2 windows had locks that were broken. The window screens were old with holes in them big enough for a snake to come through. Guess I was lucky all I saw was a spider in the room! Also the fan and one set (out of 2 lights) in the bathroom didn't work. There was a extra blanket that was discolored with half inch hole in it. There is a deck by the pool that's warped and moved under my feet. There should really be caution tape so no one walks on that. Also a arm rail, that takes u up to a rooftop deck, wasn't completely secure to the wall. That should have caution tape too. Not safe for kids running around. Overall the disrepair is something I've never seen at another hotel and I wasn't expecting in Malibu of all places.

I Love the location. You can see the beach and open ocean from your rooms. Friendly staff and very helpful. Rooms were clean and spacious. A little outdated, but I think that’s the older beach style they’re going for. A few critters can come and go but you’re at the beach where water is life. Overall it’s beautiful. Would love to see some food options that’s available, especially at night. The heated pool is really nice, and the rooms with the patio have a dope view when you just wanna hear the ocean and feel the breeze. I’ve been multiple times for a reason.

3.5 ⭐️ Nice clean rooms, might see a few bugs here and there. Good collection of TV entertainment. Stayed overnight, but I'd stay another day if I had to. Few minutes away from the beach.

Staff is weird, not friendly it's like they don't want you to stay there. Guy at front desk was rude. Room was filthy dirty. Floors were so dirty my feet were black from walking around the room without shoes. This is not a hotel I would recommend staying at. Strange vibe overall and you will not feel welcomed when you arrive. The staff act like they are doing you a favor when you ask for something.

Don't want to be to negative but this hotel needs a serious rentavation. The view is amazing I guess this may make up for the out dated rooms.

Room was small and cozy. Had nice blankets. I had private patio. The hill getting in and out of parking lot is steep. It's right next to zuma beach. Did walks daily there and saw some dolphins playing in waves. Owner and workers were very nice to me. They did have 1 room with issues. They upgraded for free. They let me stay for awhile while trying to meet Miley Cyrus. Ended with cop escort off property. They let me stay for weeks. when I couldn't afford to pay their rates. I was driving back and forth between thousand oaks and malibu. Trying to get Miley to come. I am living off of disability. Soon I will have unlimited funds. Staying anywhere in Malibu was out of my price range. I don't blame them for the cops. That I feel was Miley refusing to come to me. Her song Malibu made me feel she was going to come. If I ever get back down there. I will make sure you're reimbursed for all of my time that I was there. + Extra for tip. Even if I don't stay there and staying with celebrities. I will make sure you guys have enough to fix the issues with the room. Plus maybe do a few upgrades at my expense. I will always be appreciative of how much you helped me.

Loved my stay.

Truly the dirtiest hotel we've ever stayed. So glad we only spent the one night. The hot tub on our balcony was not even a quarter full and completely green. No deadbolt or latch or chain on the door to lock your room. Literally the only lock was the little button lock like you'd have on your bathroom door! It's really too bad. Check in was smooth and very friendly. Dudes smoking and partying at the pool was also a turnoff despite the posted rule that no smoking anywhere on site.

Wir waren 3 Nächte dort. Das Personal empfing uns sehr freundlich. Unser Zimmer war renoviert, teilweise einfach nicht fachgerecht, der Boden Laminat wurde wohl einfach über den alten Boden verlegt und hat Luftblasen. Überall sind kleine Sachen kaputt, zB Verdunklung, nicht schlimm aber nicht schön. Der Zimmerservice macht zB 1 Bett und 1 nicht, warum? Geputzt wird das Bad aber die Terrasse nicht (sehr schmutzig). Das Bad ist schön renoviert, es hat aber keine Stangen für die Tücher, wo aufhängen? Man spürt die Mühe, die sie sich geben, aber an den Details fehlt es, zumal für $ 300 die Nacht! Schade. Das Restaurant wird noch überhaupt nicht renoviert, da läuft nichts. Der Verkehr ist auch gut zu hören, stört aber in der Nacht nicht. Mit mehr Liebe zum Detail, Durchführen von notwendigen Reparaturen und etwas mehr Reinigung könnte man es viel schöner haben dort. Lage ist eigentlich sehr gut!

Isolated, Uber discouraged, old inn, room was dirty, smelled moldy, door was broken, wouldn't lock. Not worth what they charged. Checked out hours after checking in.

My husband and I with our baby girl stayed at the Malibu Country Inn for a long weekend and had an incredible time! The room was spotlessly clean and comfortable, and we were impressed with the high level of service provided by the staff. Everyone was so friendly and accommodating, which really made us feel at home.

I recently spent a long weekend at Malibu Country Inn and had a wonderful experience. The room was impeccably clean, and I felt very comfortable during my stay. The staff were incredibly friendly and provided perfect service throughout my visit.
