Nice but yes sites should be more spaced out. Very Basic camping

Love staying here. Outdoor sinks with running water. Decent bathrooms. A bit criwded and also muddy after a rain.

Just like everyone mentioned, the sites are super close together so if you get stuck with rude neighbors like we did, you might not get any rest. The restrooms were clean and had flush toilets so we were very comfortable. They also have a dish washing station and potable water. It is super windy here so just be prepared if you’re tent camping. We saw a lot of people’s things fly away. There’s scorpions as well so just keep that in mind!

Nice place. Great star gazing. Bathrooms well kept. Not a huge fan of getting harassed every day for entrance pass though.

Decent campground for a national park however they had the camp ground full sign up when the campground wasn’t full so just ignore that sign. They had it up the whole time we were there even thought there were spots. It was also terribly windy at sunrise and sunset and it actually rained too which we figured was impossible. Overall it was a great experience but ignore the campground full sign.

Centrally located campground within hiking distance of Furnace Springs. We arrived at approximately 2:15 pm on a Wednesday and the lower loop was 98% full. We picked a site near other tent campers in the upper loop. As others mentioned, ground is SUPER HARD pack. Bring heavy stakes and a good hammer. I'm glad we did. There was hurricane force winds that hit 50mph that night according to the ranger. Pretty sure no one in the campground slept that night. Between the howling winds and blowing sand, I heard plenty of folk scrambling to hammer stakes in or chase tents. Dumpster was full of trashed tents the next day.
Camp host knew it was coming and came by to inspect our set up. Gave us the thumbs up and moved on. That was appreciated. Most of the roof top tenters moved inside their vehicles and folded up their tents.
The pay machine for the sites only takes a card and takes a while to connect to whatever system it uses but works eventually. There is NO AT&T cell service there or at Furnace Springs. FC has free wifi however. The rest of the park is a cell dead zone as it should be.
No showers. Potable (drinking) water available at the site. Bathrooms and sinks available. Dumpsters Centrally located. Fire pits available at every site. Dogs on leashes allowed. There are coyotes that roam very close to the sites.

A lot of spaces in multiple loops. Drinkable water and bathrooms available. Perfect spot, is practically in the middle of everything. Showers available at The Ranch $$.

Nice campground. We just stayed one night in early January 2024. $16 a night. It serves its purpose and is a nice jumping off spot for nearby attractions.

Great Death Valley campground! It costs $16/night (verses $14 at Sunset which is just a gravel parking lot). There are several bushes and interesting rock formations all around the site. Bathrooms with running water, and there is a big dish washing area (6 stations) near each bathroom. Camp hosts are very friendly volunteers, and it's close enough to the Furnace Creek Visitor Center to have fairly good cell reception.
Only warning is the wind! From 1am until dawn the wind would kick up to about 50mph for a few minutes, then calm down to 1mph for a 5-10 minutes...that cycle was all night! Bring a tent that is good in wind, stake it down tight, and maybe put it close to your car to help act as a windshield.

We were slightly overwhelmed by the beauty size and stark contrast of day and night here

Great campground. The park ranger definitely wants you to follow the rules though so make sure you're on top of it! Super clean restrooms and sinks which was nice.

There’s a part of the campground that is very beautiful and a part that looks like a parking lot. Bathrooms were clean and had toilet paper, but no electricity, so bring your headlamp. Also, each spot has a fire pit with a grill and a picnic table.

IMHO, it is the best campground in the area. We camped here 4 nights straight in Tesla Model X while charging and showering at Furnace Creek 3 min away.

An alternative campground when Furnace Creek campground is full.

The sunrise from here was beautiful. Conveniently located.

Campsite in Death Valley NP. The sites are gravel so bring a hammer and cushioning. The camping site has flush toilets with sinks. Also, drinking water. The site is tent only so should have no RVs. Each site has picnic table and fire pit. This is a first come site, you pay at machine there and place receipt at site. Rangers do check sites daily. Nice site.

$16 a night for dry camping with a fire pit, picnic table, and bathrooms with flush toilets. There are no showers. We arrived Sunday afternoon in late October, and most spots were empty. Make sure to walk up the hill behind the campground for a great view in all directions. Yes it is basically a gravel parking lot with no trees, but it looked better than Sunset campground across the street. It's a bit further back and higher elevation than the road, so you have a bit of a view.

No cell service with T-Mobile. Full bars but very slow service with Verizon, barely enough to use Google maps. Verizon also got service at Stovepipe Wells gas station, but otherwise a lot of the park is a dead zone.

First come, first serve. Um 12 pm ist check out, die meisten fahren wohl eher weg.

Really a good campsite to be in at Death Valley! So many things to see nearby!

It’s really a parking lot with adequate restrooms, no showers, and a no generators rule. There are 50ish campsites lined out on the hardpan. First come so get there early since it fills up fast especially after noon. The fire rings are on the edge of the the sites so watch where you set up or your neighbor’s fire might be in your lap. The maintenance of the restrooms and the rest of the campground is excellent. We stayed for nearly a week and enjoyed the central location.

Of the three campgrounds in Furnace Creek, this is the best. No generators allowed and nice views.

It can get VERY windy in this area. Several tents were launched one afternoon when we stayed here (we're in a van with solar power). So, stake and weigh your tents down before you leave for the day.

No showers, but you can get a pass at the Resort. We lucked out and the person there gave it to us for free. I just told the person I was camping. I think she assumed that I was camping at their Resort...You can also buy wifi access there: $4.95 for one hour, or $10.95 for the day.

Recommend that one brings ALL supplies with them, as the store makes airport prices and Denmark look cheap, i.e. a cup of Chobani yogurt is $4.49 and a six-pack of Sierra Nevada Torpedo IPA is $21.

A campground to match death valley.

There is no usable cellular service on Verizon, AT&T or T-Mobile. You can get text messages and calls, but no data of any significance. Starlink works well. Verizon and T-Mobile was via a roof mounted Pepwave antenna. AT&T via phone.

We arrived on a Monday afternoon and there were plenty of available spots. It was probably 75% full and cleared out more during the week. This is a good NPS campground with a much better vibe than the parking lot of Sunset Campground down the street. As others noted, there is little vegetation and thus little privacy but it's no worse than most commercial RV parks. The view of the valley is excellent depending on the site.

They list a 25 foot trailer length limit online but that's not posted in the campground and it's way too low like it usually is for NPS campgrounds. We maneuvered our rig into a pull through site without any issues fitting both the trailer and truck with room to spare. You could fit a larger trailer in many sites without issues. One or two turns might be tight, but that's about the only reason I can come up with for the 25 foot limit. Your mileage may vary.

The site was gravel and largely level side to side. Potable water spigots are available at various points, and at the dump station on the entry road. Dishwashing stations are available. Propane fill is available at the gas station in Furnace Creek, but they probably charge an outrageous amount for it. Diesel was $8 a gallon when it was $4.22 a gallon an hour away in Nevada. Laundry is available at the ranch. The best option for groceries is in Pahrump, Nevada.

Most high elevation activities in the park were closed due to a winter storm. Many of the low elevation activities were still closed because of the 2022 flooding, but a good chunk had reopened.
