Meinungen EL PORTAL MOTEL Death Valley National Park

Did not have the opportunity to stay, but wanted to compliment them on their faith and patriotism evidenced by the artwork on the sode of the motel. Very cool.

We stayed here this last weekend for visiting Death Valley. The layout of room 3 was great, looks very similar to the pictures online. The space is roomy for 2 adults plus several bags (and a medium dog crate) and was very efficient for what we needed. The bed and mattress were comfy so we had good sleep the 3 nights we stayed. The linen and towels felt very nice and clean. Direct TV was a nice option that we used each night after a long day of activities at the park and WiFi worked very fast. They have a couple tables and enough chairs we put to good use. The heater worked great for the space especially since it got pretty chilly at night and morning. It’s a convenient and (seemed) safe location especially if you want to walk to basic necessities and food close by and heading to Death Valley. The bathroom and bathtub shower were great and worked real well for us. Also they have a nice microwave, strong spacious mini fridge and freezer that was super helpful to us having food to store and consume. Most things I asked were answered promptly and the host was helpful. I only suggested they restock the toiletries before guests arrive, install a few hooks for clothes on the walls, and weatherize the front door to avoid losing heat in the winter and cool air in the summer. We recommend this place- we had a great time overall.

Pros:
Staff was friendly and helpful.

Cons:
Room wasn't properly sealed. Cold air was coming through the windows due to bad seal. Bad seal around the door. You could hear everything being said outside in the parking lot due to the sealing issues. Room took a long time to get warm due to all the cold air blowing through.

Walls were paper thin could hear everything in neighboring rooms.

Carpet was very stained and looked filthy. Dirty walls, surfaces and floor around toilet.

Wifi didn't work.

Clean rooms and a swimming pool. The family that runs it is really nice.

If I could give this place 10 stars I would best most relaxing place everyone super friendly family owned by a Dad with a lot of kids very peaceful place to he I will forever come back

Une chambre qui sentait la cigarette, une propreté laissant à désirer.. On se fait réveiller la nuit car des ânes passent devant la chambre… Ça passe pour une nuit, pas plus. La réceptionniste est très gentille c’est pour ça que je mets 2.

Ein tolles Motel in super Lage. Der Pool ist schön und sauber. Im Zimmer Kühlschrank und Mikrowelle vorhanden. Gerne wieder.

Motel bien placé si vous voulez faire la vallée de la mort. Le confort est simple mais efficace

El Portal Motel is good for what it is. The room was large with a good-sized bathroom and a small table and TV. The bed was fairly comfortable, but the pillows were fairly flat. When I woke up, I saw a few dead crickets on the floor. However, the negatives are mostly offset by the low price of the room.

Cockroach in the bathroom and water was constantly dropping out of the air conditioner,the carpet is also very dirty with stains and the room stank as soon as we entered it,the only good thing was the cat who is really friendly.

Low budget motel.

Careful with this business. They are very unethical and don't like to pay their bills. Daughter inherent the business and decided she doesn't like to pay services received.

edit: @owner, that's where you are wrong. I have visited El Portal Motel back in like 2015. "fair and ethical" = not paying your website provider just because you inherent the hotel even when you have emails.

Top locatie met zeer goede prijs-kwaliteitsverhouding. Prima uitvalsbasis voor Death Valley. Eigenaren zijn erg vriendelijk. Prima zwembad met handdoeken erbij. Aanrader!

Fijn hotel, historische plek en geografisch perfect gelegen voor Death Valley en daaropvolgend Yosemite park!

Great friendly service with a smile. Just small town rooms and small town service. Would recommend all day, every day!
