We were picked up at 7am and had to pick up 5 others that took 3hours and 10 mins to get to chobe national park for the jeep and boat tour. So limited time on the jeep. Tour was rushed...did see some magnificent elephants and 2 lions. Then we were transferred to a tinny (small boat)..not a boat and there was no cover for us at the front so we were in the hot sun for 2 hours...there were no life jackets and we were literally passing right next to hippos and elephants but the boat was very small and very unsafe. A hippos surfaced and opened its mouth 3 feet away. It could have easily knocked the tinny over. The driver had to swerve at the last minute.
Very dangerous...it would have been much better on a big boat.
No toilet and you are loaded on to the tinny straight after lunch where we had 2 drinks as it was very hot...
Got home 6.10 pm...13 hours later...long long day.

Great
As one can see from the pictures, Gula with his proactiveness and his experiences as a Safari guide, we managed to see 2 sleeping lioness, lots of elephants, hippopotamuses on day 1 via the river route and afternoon cruise.
On day 2 via the upper route, with his persistence and dedication, we were the only group that spotted a leopard, not forgetting 2 giraffes and unfortunately some ‘Namibian’ zebras from afar. The morning drive ended with a cuppa under a gigantic baobab tree with a magnificent view of the Chobe River.
For his hard work, we wanted to buy him lunch but he politely declined and insisted on a takeaway so he can send the jeep for regular maintenance.
Anthony must be proud to have him as a diligent team member.
If there’s something that we were to nick pick, it is the lack of life jackets on the tiny boat as this is a safety concern for non or amateur swimmers even though Chobe River is calm and peaceful but there is always hippopotamuses lurking in the waters :)
