Ristorante molto curato, probabilmente uno dei più eleganti della zona. Un occhio alla tradizione con anche abbinamenti innovativi e sperimentali. Assolutamente da provare il risotto al Gavi, il migliore in assoluto. Vastissima carta vini, con bottiglie di qualità per tutte le tasche, lasciatevi consigliare, e una cantina storica davvero affascinante. In estate il cortile interno è un'oasi.

3d year we are coming to Gavi on a way to France and having dinner at this restaurant... Simply Amazing! Always great good, quality of products, friendly service, absolutely the best restaurant in the area, not just for tourists. We live 5 years in Italy and it's one of the best restaurants, for quality, taste of each dish and great service in Italy! Bravo to all team!

Ambiente raffinato e riso ottimo,poca chiarezza sui taglierini al tartufo visto che sul menù sono scritti così si pensa che la grattata "consigliata" sia facoltativa mentre in realtà è praticamente obbligatoria visto che quando arriva il piatto di tartufo non sembra essercene.

Ottima atmosfera e menù, i primi di pasta fresca mi hanno lasciato qualche dubbio, soprattutto i tagliolini al tartufo: la grattata di tartufo che viene messa quando sono serviti è inclusa o a parte? Perché se è a parte il piatto diventa tagliolini e basta, se è inclusa non dovrei trovarla nel conto. Il signore che mi ha servito (da come parlava credo fosse il proprietario) ha aggiunto una seconda grattata di tartufo dicendo "voglio che i miei clienti lo sentano". Non avendolo chiesto ho pensato che facesse parte dell' impiattamento, ma sul conto ho trovato 30 euro di grattata extra di tartufo.
Suggerisco di correggere la voce nel menu da "facoltativa" a "a discrezione del personale".

Cibo e vino ottimi.Visita cantine fatta dal proprietario anziano, gentilissimo. Servizio ottimo. Unica pecca il mancato sconto del menu degustazione per mio marito vegetariano che non ha avuto i piatti di carne. Torneremo

Eccezionale ristorante in tutto!
Erano mesi che non mangiavo così bene. Menu a scelta del ristorante, quindi niente carta ( cosa che preferisco ) . Una lunghissima degustazione per il palato. Mi soffermo anche sul servizio dei camerieri. Sempre veloci attenti.

Exceptional place! The food was one of the best we had on our two month trip in Italy. Amazing atmosphere, being located in a calm and beautifully decorated garden.
Lastly, against earlier reviews that I read here, our service was perfect. Very attentive, explained the food in detail and friendly. Bonus: I asked before the dinner for a spritz, which they apologized they couldn’t do as they didn’t do aperitivo, but half way through the menu the waiter still brought one on the house.
If you’re staying in or around Gavi, this is a must!

Good food but awful service. There are people who enjoy hospitality and those that run restaurants simply for business. Le Cantine strikes me as the latter.
I believe we were "unfortunate" by having a young, new, fairly untrained new staff member. However, we then spoke to the son of the owner and unfortunately same bad service.
- No menu explanation
- Not asking if we'd have any allergies
- No asking us for extra wine. We had 2 glasses but only because we asked
- Stingy with wine, it costing EUR9 per glass, you'd expect a bit more
- Not asking throughout if everything was ok or any for of check-in
Etc etc
Unfortunately amongst locals this place is know for bad service. I am stunned they are still booked and that so many people pay EUR 65 (without wine) to accept poor service.
If this place were to train there staff well, smile (smiles are free and can make guests feel more welcome). and study some basics of higher end hospitality it could be a great place.
For now: would NOT go back.

Menu fisso settimanale, quello che abbiamo avuto noi è stato finito per gola e non per fame. Accompagna una serata perfetta la carta dei vini non banale, un servizio attento al cliente e un giardino esterno molto grazioso.
Io ci tornerò e lo consiglierò.

Un cadre incroyable pour une cuisine gastronomique élaborée dans ce village typiquement italien ! Service très agréable pour un moment hors du temps avec vue sur le fort de Gavi

We visit Cantine del Gavi several times per year. This is a fantastic place - excellent food and wines. The people at the restaurant are very observant and very nice. The quality of the food is a Michelin star worthy. Do not miss this place. You get a loot of quality for reasonable money. And we have never been disappointed.
