MAKRYAMMOS BUNGALOWS

Really pissed off at this place. The place indicates itself as pet friendly everywhere (without mentioning any restrictions with regard to pet weight). Afterwards when you reserve and pay for accommodation they contact you asking how much your pet weights and only depending on your answer they confirm whether they approve your accommodation or not (turns out they allow dogs only under 7kg). Absolutely ridiculous and discriminative!

Einen wirklich traumhaften Urlaub im Sommer 2023 hatten wir in diesem Hotel. Es ließ keine Wünsche offen und das Essen war spitze. Alle waren hilfsbereit und freundlich und wir haben uns wirklich sehr über das kostenlose Upgrade gefreut. Besonders toll war der private Strand, bei dem jedes Zimmer einen eigenen Schlüssel für Liegen inklusive Sonnenschirm hatten. Sowas habe ich noch nicht erlebt und bin nachhaltig begeistert. Immer wieder, macht weiter so!!

We stayed here for a week end september/beginning October. Can recommend the hotel and we are certainly going there again. Some highlights:

-very nice breakfast and dinner buffet
-great staff, from household to management and everyone in between they are genuinely interested and warm
- because the bungalows are set apart on a steep hill there's a shuttle service by golf cart which works like a charm. My mum is not very mobile and we could go out and about without feeling much of a restriction
-the beach is super clean. Water is perfect for children as the slope isn't steep.
-we loved our cleaning lady. She really put effort into making sure we'd get back to our apartment with a smile on our face
-theres a system where you get a key for 'your' beach beds and parasol. This really works well. No other guests hijacking beach beds at 5 in the morning.
-theres a guard at the gate. He makes sure only guests can enter the premises. I don't think there's much crime on the island anyway but it adds to the feeling of security where you can leave your stuff unattended for a bit while you go for a swim. (Obviously no wads of cash).
-alcohol is relatively expensive we found. We don't drink so this makes a perfect place for people who do not enjoy drunk guests binge drinking. For example: the wine on promotion during our stay was 20 euro per bottle and a glass of bourbon was 11.
-the park itself was well kept. Lots of plants, flowers and roaming peacocks.
-theres a little shop on the premises where you can buy drinking water and snacks/ice/drinks

Few points of feedback:

-we found the smoking policy outdated. Being allowed to smoke on a full terrace during breakfast/dinner and amidst little children seemed very not-2023. It can be easily resolved by creating a smoking and non smoking section.

-theres no option to wash your clothes. A room with washer/dryer where you can do your laundry for a fee would be perfect.

-there is a lifeguard on the beach but if you happen to drown: you're lost because they all spend their days watching their phones.

All in all: 100/100 and we're returning. Had the best time.
