Upon checking in the staff were very friendly and welcoming however the fiddly stylus/pad way of entering my details was frustrating and got things off to a shaky start. When we got to the room all seemed nice, the AC was on and the room was cool. Our first stop was the balcony to see the jacuzzi which we were excited about. We promptly donned our swim gear and climbed in - we quickly noticed that the positioning of the suite / balcony means that every other guest in the hotel looks down on the jacuzzi but we got settled in to chill out for a while.
The nozzles were needle like and quickly became uncomfortable with no way to adjust or reduce the pressure. After 20 minutes we decided it was time for dinner and my partner climbed out. As soon as he stepped on the tiles he slipped and fell onto the stair case resulting in quite a substantial bruise on his back and arm. Had this been an older person or had he fallen away from the steps this could have resulted in a serious injury.
He took a couple of pain killers and went down for the dinner which was a buffet - nothing special for a 5 star hotel but nice staff and a good house wine made up for the moderate food.
The bed was large and quite comfortable though the odd choice to have a large glass panel in front of the bathroom wall meant when we got up in the night to use the facilities a glaring light woke us up and there was no ambient light to guide the way without putting the lights on.
The decor of the room was a bit dated and the bathroom had caulk filled holes where previous fittings had been removed. The mirror was tarnished and gave quite a poor impression - a good hotel dropping the standard over time.
Breakfast was another buffet which was as expected with normal breakfast buffet items and friendly staff who promptly cleared the used dishes.
All in all I was unimpressed with the hotel and feel it is over priced for the services provided. I did message the hotel to inform them of the injury and potentially dangerous arrangement with the jacuzzi (some rougher tiles or mats are urgently required) but without a response or any indication that they would look into the health and safety concerns highlighted. We won’t return but I have no doubt the local papers will eventually carry a story about someone having a serious injury as a result of the hotels negligent attitude towards safety.

In response to the situation that you described in your review, we would like to point out that you did not report about the incident while you were staying with us, and as well upon check out - you did not notify anyone about what happened- neither reception team nor any manager of the hotel were aware of it.
In addition, we would like to point that our Junior Suite Rooms with Private Jacuzzi are popular between our beloved customers and no incidents were recorded with regards to the safety part. This can be checked by the feedbacks we receive on our online platform daily.
