The place is nicely decorated and the rooms are large and elegant, my room of choice was the premier King and it was more space than I imagined.
Service was good until the shift changed, I had left the hotel and forgot something so I asked the person at the front desk if he could deliver a message for me to the room and that took some back and forth before he finally did but other than that service was amazing.
I love the location because it's not right off white plains main road like most of the other hotels in it's vicinity.. it's somewhat secluded yet right in the same area with access to restaurants and other amenities. I highly recommend this hotel if you have a special person you want to impress and there is also a spa that opens up in the springtime you can book with arrangements to utilize the spa during that time you definitely won't regret it. thank me later
drove up, from the valet to the bell cap, to the front desk personnel, the service was amazing. There hotel sparkled!!!!! The Equus Restaurant was amongst the best in the area as well as the cocktail lounge. We could always looked forward to relaxing with a classic cocktail and some of those amazing J M Macy Cheese Crisps. Well, that seems a million years from what we walked into this weekend. My husband had been talking about a weekend there to see how it was, so he treated me to a weekend getaway as a Christmas/Birthday gift. Well, from the start there was no visible valet until they paged him, there is no bell cap so you are required to lug your luggage and belongings yourself. The check in did not go much better as we Book Parlor Suite 1, and were put in Parlor Suite 2. No big deal! You can tell the place does not get cleaned regularly, the beautiful staircase has a carpet runner and where the wood is exposed was full of dust and pine needles: Christmas was a month ago!!!! The carpets in the entry and thru out the hotel were not vacuumed one time during our stay, they were full of rock salt from the outside. The room was the same issue, dust on the interior of the lamps, stained shades, chipping paint, visible water damage to the ceiling, refrigerator was barely cold, safe did not work, couch pillow were crushed from the last person that sat there and were not fluffed, extension cords and power strips in the room. Carpets are old and felt like that under you feet. We called to get the safe fixed and where first told 15-20 minutes, then we called again and the engineer was looking for a key and that was the last time we heard from anyone again. Each morning they offered a Continental Breakfast which consisted of cold bagels and muffins, a small dish of cantaloupe and pineapple, apples, breakfast bars, yogurt and instant oatmeal and coffee and tea. Not the worst, but the table clothes clearly never get changed as they were full of crumbs and stains from one day to the next and the trash that we left in the pail the previous afternoon was still there the next morning. When we checked out, my husband was bringing all the luggage down the stairs, the two gentleman sitting at the front desk talking, saw him, but did not even ask if he needed assistance, needless to say there was no valet on staff on Sunday and we had to find and get our own car. Now, when we checked out, I shared these views with the staff, again it is not there fault, they work for the Haycreek group of boutique Hotels, which make sense because they own the Roundhouse in Beacon and that place has gone downhill as well. I am sad to say I probably will never go back here again, as it was so disappointing to see such a beautiful, historic property being disrespected. This place needs a serious infusion of money to bring it back to its glory.
