The instructors and everyone there are just super chill and friendly. They always welcome you with a smile and a mate, making you feel right at home. Plus, they're awesome at boosting your confidence in the water, helping you get better every day. One thing I really liked is how they start with a theory class on land. It's great because it gives you the basics and makes you feel more comfortable before hitting the waves. It really helps, especially if you're new to surfing and find the ocean a bit overwhelming. Also Encuentro is a beautiful beach with warm waters and stunning sunrises (check out the photos below).

I got to train over two days back to back with Migue and he was a patient and also attuned instructor, challenging me at the right moments. I feel a lot stronger and keen to be more consistent with surfing. Joaquin was super helpful in all the coordination and motivation ????????‍♂️????????‍♀️

The surfer’s beach is gorgeous, and the surf instructors are fantastic. I was a total beginner, and actually could surf some by the end of a week. Generous breakfasts, and some wonderful add on tours rounded out the experience.

Wow!! Patient instructor,, excellent English. I had NEVER tried this sport before coming to Cabarete School. Within 2 sessions I was comfortable controlling the kite and on the 3rd day was able to go solo ( not yet with the board). That will be tomorrow, as they offer a 4 day discounted rate that makes total sense. Have fun!! And THANK YOU for the great instruction!!

We had the best time learning to surf at Wave Souls. Joaquin was super communicative and flexible and arranged the perfect program for us (a combination of private lessons and rents). It was perfect for beginners: we felt safe but challenged. Really hope we can come back soon to surf and hang out (and drink matte) at the beach!

Couldn’t have asked for a better introduction to the world of surfing. Joaquin provided a flexible solution for me and my girlfriend, so we could make the most out of our days in Encuentro. The communication was great, the lessons where fun and challenging to ensure progress and the people where fantastic. Thank you to Joaquin, Juan, Kendry, Migue and Tomas for a great week.

This is definitely the best spot and surf school at Encuentro Beach! They gave my 7yrs old his first lesson ever, and he stood up in his 1st wave!!! Joaquin and the crew are super mindful and very polite. They know how to do their job and make you feel at home!!! I will come back very soon to keep learning!

Incredibly talented surfers and teachers. It’s one thing to be good at what you do, another to teach it to four adolescents! The instructors understand kids, meet them where they are at and get them up and surfing with patience and humor. Generous with time and expertise, they are fab for adults too. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Great place to rent equipment and learn to surf. They have great instructors and offer 1on1 mentoring. They are there from 7:00 am to 12:00 noon, which is the best time to surf encuentro ????.

We had our class this morning with Wave Soul and my girlfriend got her first wave! Really friendly staff and knowledgeable instructors with nice boards and all the equipment you might need. Super recommended

I took surf lessons with Wave Soul. Great school, fantastic people! They deserve 5*. Juaquin, Juan and Agus posess a very wide knowledge, are super skilled and explain everything you need to know very well. They really want you to learn. If you're in Encuentro, they're your best choice to learn watersports????

I am so glad I found Wave Soul Retreats! This was one of the best trips I have done, truly unforgettable!
My sister and I came to Encuentro/Cabarete for some surfing, kiteboarding, and yoga. Agus from wave_soul made our trip an absolute delight. From the accommodation, organizing airport pick-ups, and grocery shopping to scheduling yoga and water activities, Agus took care of everything!
Big thanks to her husband, Juan, who organized my kite lessons, and Joaquin, who managed surfing lessons for my sister.
My kiting progress is remarkable, and all thanks to great instructors!
In addition, Agus helped organize a day trip to Waterfalls and a trip involving snorkeling, wakeboarding behind a fishermen's boat through mangroves, and kiting!!!!
I’m coming back to Wave_Soul!
