I can't in good conscience leave 1 star - the hotel's location is good, and the rooms were clean. That's about where it ends, though:
- the showers in the premium room are badly designed. There's no door, so the water spills out onto the bathroom floor. Even with putting a towel down, it gets soaked. Not to mention our showerhead was broken.
- the in-room air conditioning was off, on a weekend where the high hit 25 degrees celsius. When we asked, they said they did not turn on the A/C until later in the year... but our rooms were much warmer than the lobby and common areas, so...
- Service was really stiff and uninterested. For the first 12 hours of our stay, there was a loud, dull whooshing noise in our bathroom, almost like a pipe behind the wall was open or leaking. When I went to report it to the front desk staff, stressing that it wasn't impacting our use of the bathroom, but wanted to tell them in case they had a leak, the concierge shrugged at me. On another occasion, we grabbed drinks at the beautiful, but overpriced rooftop bar - the staff brought one glass of wine but not the other for the table next to us - baffling.
There were plenty of other small issues - nothing critically bad, but for the several hundred euros per night, I'm confident there are better hotels in Rome, particularly if you don't need to be centrally located by the train station.
Older hotel, nice rooms few electricity points old style sockets no USB chargers. Great people helpful courteuos . Very close to mainline station from airport really very well located. Enjoyed Mediterraneo as our base. A great rugby weekend thanks to Gullivers.
Torneremo.
Stayed here for 3 nights. Rooms spacious and well appointed. Not super fancy or chic, but very good. Location right next to central train station. Quality location near good food. 20-30 walking from lots of very good attractions. Would stay here again!
This gorgeous old hotel is close to the terminus and an easy walk to all the attractions. The hotel foyer and bar lounge is stunning marble. The rooms were a good size and comfortable but the furniture needed some updating. Power sockets were so limited I bought a multiple socket to charge my electricals.
The breakfast buffet was chaotic with staff clearing tables whilst we were at the buffet. On two days this led to other guests sitting at the table we were using. The volume of guests was too much for the restaurant and often the buffet was not replenished. The hotel shared the breakfast with the adjacent hotel
Service was not what I expected for a four star hotel
The bedroom cleaning staff were excellent.
During the month of October, 2023 I had the pleasure of staying at the Bettoja Hotel Mediterraneo, and I must say that it exceeded all my expectations. This classic hotel truly stands out in every way, making it an unforgettable experience.
From the moment I stepped into the lobby, I was captivated by the timeless elegance and charm of the Bettoja Hotel Mediterraneo. The tasteful décor and attention to detail in preserving its classic ambiance made me feel like I had stepped back in time while enjoying all the modern comforts.
What truly set this hotel apart, however, was the amazing staff and impeccable service. The hospitality extended by the team was exceptional, and their genuine warmth made me feel welcome throughout my entire stay. From the front desk to the housekeeping staff, everyone went above and beyond to ensure my comfort and satisfaction.
The rooms were not only well-appointed but also meticulously maintained. The blend of classic design with modern amenities provided a cozy and luxurious retreat after a day of exploring the beautiful city. The attention to cleanliness and order was evident, creating a comfortable and inviting atmosphere.
I would wholeheartedly recommend Bettoja Hotel Mediterraneo to anyone seeking a classic and charming stay in the heart of the city. The combination of timeless elegance, attentive staff, and outstanding service make this hotel a standout choice for a memorable and enjoyable visit. I left with a sense of gratitude for the wonderful hospitality and a strong desire to return in the future
