Die Dorfkantine ist stolz auf ihren wachsenden Ruhm und hat sich zu einem Restaurant mit Klasse entwickelt, und ihre Rezepte sind etwas raffinierter als früher. Doch auf dem Teller sind die Aromen der Region immer noch etwas Besonderes. Nicht zu verpassen sind die Ravioli al sugo di Gavi, deren kleine, in Wein geschmorte Soße man nicht so leicht vergisst... Und natürlich ist die Weinkarte für jeden Weinliebhaber wunderbar. Der Service ist perfekt in einem schönen Saal oder im Garten. Sehr empfehlenswerte Adresse!

Lastly, against earlier reviews that I read here, our service was perfect. Very attentive, explained the food in detail and friendly. Bonus: I asked before the dinner for a spritz, which they apologized they couldn’t do as they didn’t do aperitivo, but half way through the menu the waiter still brought one on the house.
If you’re staying in or around Gavi, this is a must!
I believe we were "unfortunate" by having a young, new, fairly untrained new staff member. However, we then spoke to the son of the owner and unfortunately same bad service.
- No menu explanation
- Not asking if we'd have any allergies
- No asking us for extra wine. We had 2 glasses but only because we asked
- Stingy with wine, it costing EUR9 per glass, you'd expect a bit more
- Not asking throughout if everything was ok or any for of check-in
Etc etc
Unfortunately amongst locals this place is know for bad service. I am stunned they are still booked and that so many people pay EUR 65 (without wine) to accept poor service.
If this place were to train there staff well, smile (smiles are free and can make guests feel more welcome). and study some basics of higher end hospitality it could be a great place.
For now: would NOT go back.

Erano mesi che non mangiavo così bene. Menu a scelta del ristorante, quindi niente carta ( cosa che preferisco ) . Una lunghissima degustazione per il palato. Mi soffermo anche sul servizio dei camerieri. Sempre veloci attenti.
